30th Jun 2002 - Zero 88 donate latest Leap Frog console to Florida State University Lighting Students.
Zero 88 continues its long established support of young lighting designers by donating a Leap Frog console to the Florida State University School of Theater.
The Leap Frog was immediately put to work running 6 Mac 500s and 6 Mac 600s on the FSU School of Theatre’s production of “Angels in America Part 1” (A political fantasia about Aids and the Regan Administration). Assistant Professor and head of the M.F.A. Lighting Design Program at Florida State, Ann M. Archibald, was the lighting designer for this first production with the Leap Frog. "Having the Leap Frog allowed the conventional lights to be programmed separately from the moving lights, speeding up the tech process. I don't know how the lighting for this production could have happened without it!" commented Ann.
She continued to explain the effect that the Leap Frog will have on the course; "This console will allow the students to be exposed to current technology beyond traditional theatrical consoles. On average 4-5 graduate students and 6-10 undergraduates will get to work with it every term. Thank you so much Zero 88 Lighting for the generous donation."
The desk was presented to the University at USITT by Bob Gordon of LA based AC Lighting Inc -Zero 88’s exclusive US distributor.
