A new era in lighting has been created with two major players in the entertainment and architectural lighting controls industry joining forces in an important strategic move establishing the iLight group plc.

Merging together are iLight Ltd, formerly known as Dynalite Ltd the country's major force in architectural lighting controls, and Zero 88 Lighting Ltd, for around thirty years a leading name in the entertainment lighting industry.

The move is designed to combine the best of entertainment and architectural lighting expertise and is backed by a multi million pound investment programme.

The group's management, research and development team has been increased as part of the investment to drive an ongoing programme of radical new product development. Stage one has already resulted in Zero 88's new Frog range of competitively priced premium feature desks that have received universal acclaim within weeks of launch.

Manufacturing capacity at Zero 88's 23,000 sq feet factory has been expanded to include not only Zero 88s new and existing products but also iLight's range of lighting controls, with revolutionary patent-protected dimmer technology.

David Kerr, who successfully managed Dynalite Ltd and is well-known as a major player in the lighting controls industry with a career spanning 25 years, heads up the new company as iLight group plc Chairman and Managing Director of iLight Ltd.

David says the creation of the iLight group reflects and anticipates changes in the lighting controls industry.

"Lighting specification is changing. Expectations of what an environment should deliver are increasing and we are investing heavily in our leading brands to provide advanced systems that combine three essential ingredients innovation, practicality and value for money."
