Specialist water effects company Water Sculptures choose Zero 88 desks to control stunning fountain displays at the Queens Jubilee celebrations and at the opening ceremony at the Commonwealth Games.
For the Jubilee celebrations, Water Sculptures, working in conjunction with Unusual Rigging, used a Zero 88 Fat Frog to control 34 Lowara DOC 7 single phase pumps, evenly spaced in the two pools either side of the Queen Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace. Each water jet was fired in up to 8m high bursts. More than 10 different sequences were programmed for the evening’s celebrations, including a magnificent Mexican Wave.
For the opening ceremony at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, a Zero 88 Alcora and Linebacker were chosen. Working with production company Jack Morton Worldwide, Water Sculptures used the Alcora to control the water effects on the main stage and four satellite stages.
Performers were equipped with head, shoulder, waist and finger jets to create the “human fountain” effects used in the finale.
The Linebacker was added to the DMX control as a back-up unit.
