17th Sep 2003 - Beta version of the new Illusion 500 moving light software is now available.
As we approach the launch date for the first version of Illusion 500 software with moving light capability we have chosen to make beta versions of this software available to registered users. To register for a copy of the software please visit the Illusion support website at www.illusionsupport.com
Why are we asking you to register to get the software? Firstly, the software is, we believe, currently stable enough to run shows with. That said it may still have a few bugs in it and some of the features that will be in the final release are not as yet working fully. We are releasing the beta version of the software so that users can provide us with feedback on the software. Where possible we will accommodate changes and additional features in the final release.
Secondly, we do not yet have a complete operating manual. There are user notes available however and for those of you used to the Illusion and the Frog range of consoles you should be able to get moving lights working and programming quite quickly.
Finally, by registering we will know who to mail new upgrade information to. There will also be some swag for registered users that will be mailed to you along with the sticker that labels the keys you will need for controlling the moving light elements of the console.
Notes:
The philosophy of the console is that everything you can do using keyboard syntax can also be done using a mouse. At present some of the keyboard syntax is not working so you will need to use a mouse. We strongly recommend using the mouse as the features it accesses are truly powerful.
At present, once you have assigned your moving lights you can use them in memories, submasters, chases or palettes. You can access all the features available in the moving light profiles and use the Illusion software to rapidly create fans. The movement effects engine is not enabled despite the information appearing on the screens.
Please take time to use the software and we welcome your feedback, both positive and negative. Bear in mind that the software is a work in progress so not everything may work the way you want it to! By working with us to develop the software we will all be able to finalise the product so that is easy to use and offers great value for money.
As a final reminder – please be aware that this is beta test software. Please test thoroughly before use on critical productions.
If you have any questions about the software or have difficulty in registering as a beta user please email ndaft@zero88.com
Thank You
