2nd Feb 2005 - Reg Berry takes Zero 88 Challenge Cup!
Zero 88 has always had a tradition of hosting Go-Karting events, so after a couple of years absence, they resurrected the challenge with a Dealer Event at Daytona's Manchester Circuit.
In an individual style knock out event, drivers pitched their witts against each other over 12 heats to battle for a place in the final. Competition got extremely tense as drivers overtook, spun, knocked off and swerved past each other for the 8 finalist positions. Frienship and respect appeared to have no meaning out on the circuit - particulary amongst the Zero 88 employees!
In the end the final was won by a comfortable margin by Reg Berry of Lancelyn Theatre Supplies. Gerry Corcoran of Northern Light followed in 2nd place with Peter Threadgold of Whitelight hot at is heels in 3rd. Reg Berry was presented with the Zero 88 challenge cup in the venues bar, after a much needed drink!
