23rd Sep 2005 - Frog 2’s festival debut at legendary UK dance event
Just days after they had purchased their Frog 2 consoles from Zero 88, HSL Productions wasted no time in making them earn their keep - throwing them in at the deep end at Creamfields 2005!
Over 50,000 people attended the event at the Old Speke Airfield in Liverpool, the spiritual home of legendary superclub Cream. The event featured the very best of current and old skool dance acts across the Galaxy main stage and 9 supporting arenas. The impressive line up inlcuded Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Fat Boy Slim, Scratch Perverts and MC Dynamite.
Launched earlier this year the Frog 2’s have found home in theatres, churches and multipurpose venues across the globe – but this was their first outing at a festival event.
The two Frog 2 consoles were in action in the ‘Full Cycle’ Hardcore House arena and ‘Hed Kandi’ hospitality tent. Controlling a collection of Martin Mac 250’s, 300’s, 500 and 600’s the consoles were certainly put through their paces at this demanding 15 hour dance event.
Simon Stuart of HSL explains “The buskability of the Frog 2’s along with its on board effects makes them quick and easy to program; a critical requirement for dance environments. We are very pleased with the desks performance on the night and for the price, they offer outstanding value for money.
We also received great support from Zero 88 in the run up to and during the event itself. Providing the lighting and sound for the entire festival was a mammoth job, and it was nice to know that the Frog 2’s were one thing we didn’t have to worry about!”
