24th Oct 2005 - Frog 2 in control at Student Union venue
The Frog 2 recently proved a huge success when used by Nottingham Trent Students Union for a three week season of shows and events. During the freshers period the console was put to use in a wide range of activities including club nights and live music gigs.
The finale to the events was the freshers ball, which was held at “Byron House” the main venue of the S.U. 2000 students partied the night away with Radio “1Xtra” DJ’s in the main arena, with the Frog 2 controlling all show and audience lighting.
Technical Supervisor for the Student Union Ben Stroud said, “The night was the biggest and most successful event we have ever held at our own venue. We are really grateful to Stage Electrics in Newcastle for providing the Frog 2. The console allowed us to achieve a high quality professional show, contributing to the gig’s success!
Many of the student staff, who work at the venue as part of the technical team, are studying degree’s involving lighting. Most had a chance to use the Frog 2 console at some period during the time it was on site, and all were very impressed with its ease of use and performance.”
Zero 88’s Bryan Kelly who was at the event added, “Yet again the Frog 2 has demonstrated its versatility and capability at handling a large events. It has also been great that so many future lighting professionals have had access to the console and witnessed first hand the latest developments from the Zero 88 brand.”
Following its success at the Creamfields Music Festival earlier this year the Frog 2 is certainly establishing an excellent reputation as a high performance lighting console.
