24th Jan 2006 - Frog 2 and Spice Touring Dimmers in control at prestigious Commonwealth Conference

Zero 88’s journey into the production market continues to gather pace as the Frog 2 console and Spice touring dimmers take control of the prestigious Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta.

The Commonwealth Heads of Government meet every two years to discuss global and Commonwealth issues and agree collective policies and initiatives. In November 2005 the venue was the impressive Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, Malta, where representatives from 52 Commonwealth countries were in attendance.

Nexos-Lighting, Zero 88 Lighting’s distributor in Malta, provided lighting for the entire event, including the spectacular opening and closing ceremonies within the main auditorium. These provided a flavour of traditional Maltese and International entertainment, as well as more formal speeches from Heads of Government including the Head of the Commonwealth Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

With such an important event Nexos-Lighting had to ensure that they could perform the task without any hiccups. Silvio Scerri from Nexos explained “The criteria set out by the organisers of the event included an extensive range of lighting control. In all, 144 channels of dimming were supplied as well as control of the house lights and moving heads. The range of lighting effects was vast and needed a console that could cope. I had no hesitation in using a Frog 2 console to control the entire show and I am pleased to say the event went extremely well.”

The whole project used 12 Clay Paky Alphas HPE 1200’s, 22 Clay Paky Stage Zoom 1200’s, 18 Griven Kaleidos 575 Colour changers, 24 Clay Paky Stage Colors,24 Selecon Pacific’s,16 Selecon Aurora’s, 72 Griven Teatro 1Kw PC and Fresnels, 2 Zero 88 48 channel Spice Touring Rack, a Zero 88 48 channel Contour Rack and a Zero 88 Frog 2 console.
