20th Mar 2002 - Maltings Theatre and Arts Centre, Berwick Upon Tweed, chose Bullfrog to replace their ageing console

Sightings of a BullFrog have been reported in Berwick Upon Tweed!

The Maltings Theatre and Arts Centre are now the proud owners of a Bullfrog desk supplied through Zero 88 dealer Nitelites of Newcastle.

The Maltings is an arts centre, cinema and theatre, which brings arts to the local community. The centre has played host to performance companies such as Japan 2001 (Mugenkyo and U-Stage), Trading Faces, Box Clever, Ballet Russe, Theatre Sans Frontier, Joe Brown and Opera Della Luna, as well as all the local amateur companies who perform several times a year.

Sabrina Clark, Technical Manager of the venue, had previously used a Sirius 48 and her experience with this desk and Zero 88 helped in deciding on the Bullfrog.

The new desk operates the generics and Mac 500s in their main theatre. “After having had many lighting desks on demo, including the Sirius 500 and the Strand 300 series, I found that the Bullfrog was by far the easiest to use, and the price fitted our budget perfectly. The fact that the Bull Frog can control generic and intelligent lighting simultaneously was a huge selling point, as we purchased two Martin MAC 500's as part of the lottery application.

Having not used intelligent lighting to any major degree before, ease of programming was very important. So far the desk is proving to be a great improvement on our old lighting desk. Several of the regular touring companies have commented on how much quicker and more reliable programming is.
