Hi

I have a Zero-88 Jester ML24 lighting controller. It gets used for local charity and non-profit shows.

I suspect there is an internal fault with how the faders are multiplexed. The most obvious fault is that the Grand Master fader will only go to 75%, but operating other faders will make it go to 100% as they get to full travel. In test mode, the flash buttons work correctly, but the associated fader will not be 'read' correctly, however another nearby fader will operate in place of the desired one.

There is a new battery installed, the desk has been reset and the last available firmware and fixture library installed. I've made up and tried a new ribbon cable assembly in case the original was faulty.

Is it possible to get internal schematic diagrams for this desk so I can get busy with a 'scope and meter?

	Thank you.

Hi all, I have an issue with my JesterML that seems intermittent. It appears to only have started having this issue since a few days ago.

The issue is when I turn on and boot up the desk, the main LCD is blank (but still backlit), same with the wheel LCD. The top MFK lcd is showing content, but slightly malformed on the top row (see pics below). Bottom MFK lcd seems fine so far.
This issue sometimes happens when I turn the desk on, and sometimes doesn't happen. DMX output still works fine, same with monitor VGA output from the back ports. Buttons all still work, so do the wheels, as the red LEDs in the buttons do change when I press them to the desired option I want to select. It's the LCDs that are the issue.

Another thing to add is that on the top MFK lcd, when I select either Colour, Beamshape or Position, the four horizontal bars you see disappear and it just goes to how picture E shows.

 Picture D : Wheel LCD

Picture E: four horizontal bars have now disappeared after selecting C, B or P

Pictures are attached below. If anyone knows the problem here, I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me. Thank you. Perhaps it is a loose connection inside, but maybe something damaged? I'm not sure. I wanted to be careful and not open the desk just yet in case something goes wrong.

	Hello,

I'm trying to set up some Cameo Root Par 6 in 11ch mode on my Jester TLXtra. In this mode they support a 16 bit dimmer on channel 1 (MSB) and 2 (LSB); I created the fixture with the Fixture Type Editor, selected 16bit for the dimmer, and assigned the two channels accordingly.

When I load this fixture into the console it seems to only use 8 bit though (very noticeable on LED spots, as there is a significant jump in brightness between 0 and 1%, which is exactly why there is a 16 bit dimmer in the first place).

According to the manual: "16-bit parameters are displayed on the desk as two sets of values (eg 127-255) to indicate the level of both channels", but my desk only displays 1 value (0-100%) on the dimmer wheel. In fact it almost feels as if the dimmer doesn't even use the full 8-bit resolution but actually "%".

What am I missing?

regards,
Stephan

	Hello,

is there a way to create fixture definitions that allow to operate fixtures with RGB color mixing as HSB on the JesterML/TL (i.e. program colors as hue/saturation/brightness and the console converts it into red/green/blue output channels)?
The arrangement of the scroll wheels would be perfect for that.
Hello,

just for info; If your console starts with only 24 channels, and the other 24 always remain lit then:
Open the console and check the dipswitches
-preset 1-12 must be: 2 ON, 1&3 OFF
-preset 13-24 must be: 2&3 ON, 1 OFF
Otherwise Check the ribbon cable connections

For my part a dipswitch (13-24) was not in the right position.
Hi,

New to the forum and just posting to see if anyone might be able to help...

I use a Jester ML48 and have just purchased a couple of Martin ERA 150 Wash lanterns.

Previously I've just requested a new file for new fixtures not on the list (I have the last update installed).

However, my email request this time was met with a polite reply that included a file for FLX desks, which unfortunately doesn't help with my older desk.

Just wondering if anyone has already created a file for the Jester for this lantern - I have had a look at the fixture editor tool, but it is pushing my limited tech knowledge and ability and I'm not confident I can successfully create a new file that will work...

	Thanks!

	Hi there,
I'm looking to buy a used Zero88 48Ml board and I would like to know if the support still is active since the webpage mentions that the produced is discontinued.

I will need to lern how to operate the board and will struggle in programming fixtures.

In our theater we do only have very basic LED lights, some washers and PARs.
I assume, that the library that comes with the Jester has some generic LED fictures to assign, is that right?

Another question: will the Jester be working properly with the latest update 4.1 or will I have problems in the very next future?

I also found a reference that this board can be programed remotly by a PC. Is this software still available and will it run on most recent windows systems?

Thank you

We have a Jester 48. The Page A button LED is now permanently flashing. Depending on mode it can still select either 1-24 or 25-48. In most respects it still seems to work as expected, however in Run Mode we are no longer able to Flash individual channels. The Page B button still works to flash Sub Masters and the LED is not flashing.

The handbook under "Presets in Run Mode" indicates we should still be able to Flash channels on Preset A. You can still raise channels on the fader as expected.

I have been unable to determine if this propblem is due to a setting being wrong somewhere in the desk or if the desk has developed a fault. Advice please.

	Hi all

Have been trying to patch a 10 channel Parcan onto a Jester ML24 and to some extent this works as when I exit the set up mode I can edit the light with the function keys colour brightness ect. However I have 6 other lights that I can fade on and off from the preset A faders, how can I add this new light to be on fader 7?

When I go into the dmx patch, with the light patched in at 70 I can only set the number 7 fader chanel to either 69 or 81. I have also done the inverse setting the channel fader to 70 and the Light to the next closest dmx channel up but this too doesn't work.

For the 6 other lights that have been already programed before, they are also 10 channel, with for example light 1 is set on the patch channel dmx 1 and the patch fixture to dmx2.

	Hope this makes sense

	Many thanks

I am lighting a play using a Jester 12/24 provided by the customer. Not a problem, it does what I need BUT I randomly created the cue stack during rehearsals so the cue list numbering is all over the place. Is there a way I can renumber all the cues back to 1:1?

	Hi all

I have been having some issues adding new fixtures to my Jester ML24, and so was wanting to buy a cheap Par Can -Equinox MaxiPar Quad LED Par Can to test a few things out. However when looking on the fixture library, I realise that this light is not on the list. I there a way of adding it?

	Many thanks

My field is sound not lighting, so please bear with me. I was doing sound for a show at our local school and noticed that when the lighting guy brought the master fader up it would flash momentarily before dimming again and gradually fading up as it should. It didn't happen every time but I thought it was likely to be a worn or dirty fader. I've replaced audio faders before and thinking "How hard could this be?", I foolishly offered to fix it for them. Soldering in a new fader seemed to be straightforward, but the desk doesn't work now.

All the LCDs on the flash buttons are lit constantly on channels 1-6 on banks A and B, and none of the faders appear to do anything. With a bit random button pressing I did get it working in a chace, and the Master fader worked then, but that's the only time I saw any of the lights come on.

I tried a desk reset and it didn't make any difference. I have until Sept 5th when the schools go back to get it working! Any suggestions gratefully received!

	Hi,

I have a Jester ML and a Jester TLXtra to dispose of. I have not been fortunate enough to find a buyer even at near give away prices. Is there a way of recycling old desks?

I tried to sell them on just before the pandemic but of course nobody was buying. Any advice would be welcome.

	Thanks,

	Hello,

i am currently searching for a Jester 24/48 Desk for my school in Germany. We already have a Jester 12/24 one, but our setup has grown since we have bought the jester 12/24 and are now in need of a bigger one. It needs to be from the jester series because many of our teachers and students are already familiar with it's software. Do you know any contacts who are selling a jester 24/48 right now?
