If I record a cue running an effect in which movers are moving on a preset pattern, figure of 8 for example, does anyone know if there is a way of stopping them moving whilst blacked out in the next cue? I have tried multiple ways and the only successful method seems to be to record them in a position at a very low intensity when stopping the effect. I don't want them moving around whilst blacked out, especially as their subsequent cue will likely be in a static position as a special.

I don't doubt that not so many months ago Edward or Jon would have been on with a solution. Alas we seem to have been hung out to dry these days.

I have some Lanta Fireball par64 quad rgbw parcans on my rig which, when set to the same colour palette are receiving different dmx values.

Our Panto baddie always has his own colour but it changes from year to year. I saved a new palette "Baddie Green", then a few options to choose from (nos 31-34) , using Lee filters, see photos.

If I use palettes 31-34 I get consistent colour on all lights, but I'd have to update each cue if I want to change it.

If I <update> Baddie_green with the selected colour, then apply it to my lights, I get different dmx values output to different lights. On the photo 1, the six lights start at dmx 151 and the 1st intensity values are set to 10, 20, 30 etc. In that test the 3rd light gets different values.

I can reproduce this when I use any of the renamed colour palettes e.g Undersea_blue. In that case in photo2, lights 1-3 get 120-255-0-43 and lights 4-6 get 120-212-0-43.

I noticed this as I've been programming the show, where one light was wrong. When I corrected it, all seemed fine for a while then it reverted to the error.

	Any ideas anyone?

	Hi

I'm an enthusiastic amateur that programmes school productions on a Solution desk. I'm basically self taught and fairly proficient but there's one thing I can't work out which I suspect should be possible.

So at the moment, recording something to a submaster works the same as recording a memory cue. It records the entire lighting state for all fixtures.

There must surely be a way to record only particular fixtures? So essentially bringing up a submaster will trigger only the chase or change in the ones you want, which layer on top of whatever is already set on stage via a cue.

For example, a disco type chase which can be added to any scene. Or a pair of spotlights that are needed frequently.

As it stands, if I save something as a submaster I need to build it on top of whatever scene I'm using it in. In the show we're doing we need some stuff to flash at different points. It would be great to have a single flash that I can keep using rather than one for each background scene I'm using it in.

Hope that makes sense. Can anyone offer some tips?

Having a look at the "outputs window" while running a chase, i can see that the "colour attribut" remains the same in every step .

	i expected that : (ParLed1 step1 intensity 100% / colour 100%) then (ParLed2 step 2 intensity 100% / colour 100%) (and ParLed1 step 1 intensity 0% / colour 0%) ...

It's annoying cause if i run the chase (even if LTP) and at the same time a submaster memory with the same fixtures involved but with a different colour, i get a mix of the colours and not an override...

To be more precise, a submaster with 4 ParLed White, then i run a chase with the same ParLed but in blue, i get full white then mixed colour during all steps of the chase (W1/W2/W3/W4 then mixW1B1/W2/W3/W4 then mixW1/B1/mixW2/B2/W3/W3 until the last step... The blue colour of the chase is staying in backgroud... Instead of having B1/W2/W3/W4 then W1/B2/W3/W4 until the last step..

I've built this 4 channel DMX relay pack to switch on/off ancillary on-stage lights & effects which may be damaged by a dimmer output. The unit activates with a DMX signal of 128-255. What's the best way to patch this on my desk?

Background: My installation uses a rack of Chilli dimmers for the 15a lighting bar channels plus some Chilli relays (controlling a 13a socket at the end of each bar). As novices the relays channels were patched with "dimmer" profile to faders, but later, on advice, the same faders were re-patched using "video 1ch" profile which is switched via the Beam On/Off. The fader is therefore redundant. Inspecting the Dmx output, the Beam On outputs a DMX value 127, ie not enough to activate the new relays (although apparently sufficient to activate the Chilli relays).

When I tried patching the new relays:

	a) The desk wouldn't let me patch to a fixture channel above 48 so the pack will fill 4 more faders which they don't really need.

	b) When I patched as "video 1ch", the Dmx output value at Beam On was 11. (Further, if I select a mix of Chilli relay channels and the new relays the output value is 11; it's only 127 when activating Chillis alone).

I'd really like to move all the relays off the faders and patch as fixtures so I can switch with Beam On/Off. I'd also need to set the Dmx output value above 127 when activated.

	Thanks

	Simon.

	Hello!

We recently started to use a Solution XL in our (amateur) theatre, and I wanted to ask if it is possible to change the colours indicating current cue (dark green atm) and next cue (yellow atm)?

For me it's kind of confusing, and I end up thinking the yellow one must be the current one because it is brighter. I'm aware that I will get used to it when I work with it for a long time, but we always have different (and new) groups performing in our theatre, so I think all new people will be confused by these colours. So I'd rather change them to something more intuitive. Is that possible?

I also have some other questions: can I just post them in this thread (and change the title to something more general), or should I rather open a new thread for each question? (there will be several, as the desk doesn't seem to work properly in some cases, and also the manual isn't up to date anymore)

I have a playback programmed on a Zero 88 Solution XL. I can add an extra lantern by putting the fader up to the level I require then RECORD>MERGE. I can’t remove a lantern or reduce its intensity. I used to be able to do this by moving the requisite fader to maximum then reducing it to the required intensity or zero then RECORD>MERGE. I am guessing it is operator error rather than a desk problem. Any ideas?

I would appreciate some advice on what I am doing incorrectly or possibly what I haven't done when I first created the Playback. The Playback was originally created as per one of the Help Documents for creating RGBA, etc & Intensity of an LED Parcan.

The problem is that when I now enable Tracking the playback config changes and the Parcan is no longer being instructed to change the colour, etc

Using the Program Window here is a picture before the Tracking change to Enabled:

and here it is after Tracking is enabled

The setting of Red has permanently disappeared.

I am running SW version 7.14 and does exactly the same thing on the actual Desk or on Phantom which I used to capture these pictures

	Many thanks, Brett
