	Hi, I have 24 channels of dimming, using 3 x Strand Act 6 dimmer packs, and  1 x zero88 beta pack. See photo.
</p>

<p>
	the Betapack didn’t power up tonight when switched on. No life at all. I’m hoping it’s just a fuse. <br />
	Anyone got a manual, or instructions on how to check/fix this?
</p>

<p>
	many thanks, Zulu.

	Looking for recomendations to investigate/repair faulty 12 channel chilli dimmer which intermittently restarts causing all channels to flash on/off.  The dimmer is 1 of 4 in a school in the UK, Cambridge (cambs) area. I have already swapped the control panel with another rack in the same installation, the fault remains on the original rack with the alternative control panel fitted and the donor rack works as expected with the panel from the faulty rack.   Any help or suggestions appreciated.

	I have 7 betapack 3s, 5 in a rack and 2 either side of the stage.
</p>

<p>
	On the 5th pack in the rack, I am getting occasional but persistent tripping of the mains RBCO.
</p>

<p>
	This is an old install, but recently the 4th and 5th packs have had their own 32amp supply fitted as they were previously fed from 13amp plugs on the stage ring-main.
</p>

<p>
	The 4th pack does not trip, the individual channel MCBs in the 5th pack do not trip, and swapping the feeds between the packs, the issue remains on the 5th pack.
</p>

<p>
	The show starts next week - any suggestions what is at fault? Thanks in advance.

	Hi guys,
</p>

<p>
	I have a number of <strong>Zero88 Rack6</strong> dimmers. We don't use them often but I have one that is not working correctly. I'm sure I can fix it ok (I'm a qualified engineer) but it would sure help a lot if I could get hold of a schematic for it.
</p>

<p>
	Does anyone have one they can share?

	I have seen mention over the years that the Eclipse came with a cigarette lighter built in, a story even mentioned by Rob Halliday in his classic gear column.
</p>

<p>
	However, I've seen two in the flesh (one of which I commissioned), neither of which had one. Both were the larger frame variant rather the low profile FOH style. I don't recall it in product literature either.
</p>

<p>
	My question is- Did Zero 88 ever fit or provide cigarette lighters on the Eclipse as an option? I've no doubt they existed out on the road but probably an aftermarket mod by hire companies. (Realistically they would need a separate transformer as I'm sure the PSU would not have the headroom for an extra ten Amps without impacting on the output stability).
</p>

<p>
	(To younger Forum users without grey hair, once upon a time most cars had a cigar lighter gizmo on the dashboard or console, you pressed it down and it popped up again after a short while and when you pulled it out it exposed glowing coils you could use to set fire to the smoking article of your choice. The receptacle lives on as the 12V accessory socket).
</p>

<p>
	I realise people who remember the 1980s products first-hand within Zero88 are probably in short supply as they will have moved on or retired. However hopefully there is a Company archive and a keen custodian who can research as they enjoy the history.

	I recently got an old Strand 520i console from the 500 series. I'm looking for the operator manual, but I couldn't find it anywhere. All I found for now are some specifications documents of 4-5 pages that don't explain how to operate the console. Most of the websites that appear in my internet researches are down, except for Vari-Lite's one, but the <a href="https://www.vari-lite.com/global/products/500-series-console" rel="external nofollow">page for this console</a> does not contain any downloadable file (or the links are down).

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I've got a Sirius 24 that is not outputting the correct voltage at the analogue output.  On a working desk, I am reading 0.23V-10.08V on the analogue output.  On the faulty desk, I am reading 0.82V-2.80V, this is also reflected in the output LED being significantly dimmer than it should be at full output.  This fault is common to all channels on the desk.
</p>

<p>
	Can you give me any guidance on how the output voltage is derived, is there a voltage regulator I should be looking at?
</p>

<p>
	Kind regards

	Good morning,<br />
	I have a Frog STMain1. The battery was dead. The console wouldn't start.<br />
	After changing the battery (ni-mh 150 mah), the system starts by directly requesting a system update.<br />
	I had already changed the floppy drive to a USB adapter. It works because it allowed me to successfully update to 10.12.
</p>

<p>
	But today there is a problem.<br />
	It downloads the update (100%), then reads it (100%), then announces "this disk is for a frog series desk only..."<br />
	It does not work with the update that worked 2 years ago, nor the one downloaded from the site today. Same version 10.12 for the 2 tests.
</p>

<p>
	Issues :<br />
	- Does the STMain1 bios directly accept 10.12 after a total loss of the system? Or should I start by installing an earlier version (9.2 for example.. but impossible to find on the net!)<br />
	- Has the low battery corrupted something (rom???)
</p>

<p>
	FYI: impossible to give you a serial number but on the motherboard, the control labels indicate "MAR 02" and on the ICs "Program D603" and "Program C404".<br />
	I found a photo before the 10.12 update: bios Version 1.0.1 4/4/2001 and Software Version 5.0.1 21/2/2002
</p>

<p>
	Thank you.

	I currently work for a school that is using 4 Betapack 2 units to control their theatre lighting, 3 out of the 4 units have sockets that have failed the fixed appliance tests and have been deemed unsafe to use, from the report we received on this test the 11 sockets that failed seem to have failed due to the sockets being physically damaged in one way or another, They gave us a quote on replacing them with 4 new betapack 4 units but with the lead time on the units being 8 to 10 weeks currently it would leave us without working dimmers for our up coming annual next month.
</p>

<p>
	I've found a local online retailer that can provide us with replacement sockets for the units but I can't find any information on replacing the sockets in the units, can anyone let me know if this would be a fairly simple job to complete on the 3 units that I'd be able to carry out saving us a huge amount on reviving out lighting system?

	Hi guys,
</p>

<p>
	A customer of mine just brought me a Sirius 24 for attention.  It had been in storage for years and was in a complete mess. Battery had leaked all over the CPU board and had badly corroded many tracks. I have, however managed to fix it. Long job but this is still a useful desk. It has the MIDI board fitted and most of it works fine now.
</p>

<p>
	I do have a couple of issues but this involves parts rather than more fault finding.  Before disassemble the desk further I wanted to ask about the flash buttons. I have a few that don't work. It's a real pain to take the whole thing apart so can anyone tell me if it's possible to disassemble and clean the buttons inside - or do I have to replace them?
</p>

<p>
	If I have to replace them, are they available anywhere?
</p>

<p>
	I need two of the 4415000 faders as the ones on channels 1 and 2 are broken. Looks like the desk took a knock at some point.
</p>

<p>
	I also need one fader knob with a red line.
</p>

<p>
	Are these parts available direct from Zero88 or does anyone know of a supplier that can supply this lot?
</p>

<p>
	Please advise.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">

<ul style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;"><li>

		Additional Par 56 Short Noise 300 Watt Power Floor Cans
	</li>
	<li>
		Zero 88 Light Master XL Lighting Desk
	</li>
	<li>
		Zero 88 Beta Pack 2 With 6x UK Blue 16Amp Power Sockets
	</li>
	<li>
		A Soundlab 4x Channel Power IEC Sockets
	</li>
</ul><p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">

</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	I'm only getting light on the Zero 88 Beta Pack when I switch the manual channel override switches on the Dimmer itself.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	The Soundlab 4x Channel Power DMX Dimmer flashes to indicate the it is getting power and DMX is saying it need to have revered polarity in my DMX Cable some where although I never remember have these issues with I was would with the gear all the time.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Is the Light Master XL revered Polarity Already
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">

</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Would it be worth doing a factory reset on the settings to ut it back to basic as I have never really used the desk in anything else but manual, even the flashing can I did by hand

	I own several Zero88 desks which use the 4-pin DIN PSU connector: Level 6 DMX (grey one, if that matters), Alcora Mk1 &amp; Mk2, and Diabolo. Each desk has the PSU pinout marked next to the connector and they all show Pin 1 as +9V DC. (I'm not worried about Pin 3 as none of my desks have analogue output.)
</p>

<p>
	However, the instruction manuals for the four desks (as currently on zero88.com) specify different voltages for Pin 1: <br>
	Level 6 &amp; Alcora Mk 1: 9V<br>
	Alcora Mk2: 10V<br>
	Diabolo: 12V
</p>

<p>
	A support post by Zero88 states the same PSU "0010211" is suitable for all these desks (the post seems to have been deleted but you can find a cached copy in Google):<br><a href="http://support.zero88.com/Legacy-products/Legacy-Consoles/Jester-12-24-24-48/975068111/Replacement-External-PSUs-Power-Supply-Units.htm" rel="">http://support.zero88.com/Legacy-products/Legacy-Consoles/Jester-12-24-24-48/975068111/Replacement-External-PSUs-Power-Supply-Units.htm</a>
</p>

<p>
	The actual PSUs that were supplied with these desks seem to be a mixture of "10V" unregulated (these also have the 20V on Pin 3 for analogue) &amp; 12V 2A regulated SMPS (no 20V on these).
</p>

<p>
	So, my question is: can I use the Zero88-supplied PSUs interchangeably with the above desks? If I need to replace a PSU, is a 9V or 12V regulated power supply more appropriate?
</p>

	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	I have a Demux 48 that works reliably most of the time, but occassionaly, once powered up, will cause flicker on all the analogue output channels as if all channels are set to zero and then the correct values are re-established. The problem can go away after several power-down/power-up sequences. The demux is at the end of a 30m DMX cable and has a terminator plugged into the unit. DMX is being driven by an ENTTEC Open DMX USB dongle. Is this a battery issue or something else?
</p>

<p>
	Any thoughts or opinions welcome...
