  1. Here you go @Roland1234. I made this with the Windows Fixture Editor 2.6, but probably this should be a multi-cell fixture. I don't have any software to make those, so if my file below works well enough then you'll have to contact the Zero88 boys to make you a proper full-featured one.

I've put detail behind some of the parameters, but not the long complex ones. Let's see if this as it is gets your light working better.

I've made Modes 1,2,3 properly but whilst Mode 4 is in there, I've not done the pixel detail channels, but I've set the DMX allocate so you can patch it as a fixture that consumes 109 DMX addresses.

Enjoy. I'm off to the moon now, so I'll not be contactable for a while 😉

    BTW "thanks" @Davidmk 😬🤣

We tried all the modes of the library and they responds only to the mode 1 - 16 bits.

Not quite sure what you mean here. All of the modes have the same DMX map for the lower 20 channels. Only the colour segment details change in the upper channels. Pan/Tilt are all 16-bit parameters and in Mode 2 the colour parameters are 16-bit.

To Zero88's credit our 2003 Alcora (I still love this desk), the thin Frog and the Fat Frog are still doing amazingly well and are easy to use for all our crew.  Also your support makes them last even longer.  Keeping the faith!

With you there! Bought an Alcora in 2000 as my first own lighting desk. It comes out when I need a ‘little one’. Somehow I also seem to have an Elara… (and a Fat Frog… and an FLX…)! 😆 All still working ‘as new’ 😁 (and all bought brand new, except the Elara from eBay!).

  3. It sounds like the fixture definition from the library the console has doesn’t match the firmware function of the light. This is a constant problem especially with non-brand fixtures (I’m not familiar with Sparkx7).

Firstly: Is the mode set on the light the same as chosen on the console?

If you can get the manual for the light you could check it against what the console thinks controls each parameter.

If need be you could create a new fixture definition using the tool built into the fixture patch section of the desk using the info in the manual or manual+whatever deviations you found with the light.

Yup @kgalleninteresting that shows in %, personally I'd rather 1-255. Thanks for the help!

Yea weird. I wonder if there is a desk setting for that. I know it’s a topic that comes up every now and again. Like you I would have expected the raw value for all parameters except intensity. I’ll have a dig through the ZerOS release notes.

  5. OK give this a bash. On channel 3, I've added detail (which I made up). 0-4 is "Closed", 5 is "Default", 6-255 is "Open".

    Ch1 default (Dimmer [Intensity])=255, Ch2 (Wheel [Colour])default=0, Ch3 (Strobe [Beamshape])default=5

These are the "Details" for ch3:

Let's see what comes up for the Strobe channel by default...

Put this on a USB stick and just use "Load" to get it in the desk. Then you'll have to patch, Manufacturer="Charlie", Fixture="Followspot 3ch"

  6. Can you upload your fixture file? Not sure if you made it in the console or the Windows Fixture Editor. If the console I think there is a way to export it but I don’t know the format!

Either that or share the manual and I’ll knock one up in the FE for you to play with.

If I get chance today (Sun/17/Nov) I'll put these on a floppy and see if I can patch them on my FF (on FrogOS 10.12).

The two fixtures I created for @AlexP on the other thread work fine on Fat Frog 10.12. They were created with FE v2.6.0.0.

I put them both onto a floppy disc and read them into Fat Frog and patched a couple of fixtures with them using their highest channel count modes. They work fine. I was able to patch them, select them and manipulate dimmer/colour/beamshape parameters.

So if you are having issues with loading IFTs then it's not due to FE v2.6.0.0!

As above if you tell me what fixture/mode and upload the PDF manual, I'll have a go at making you an IFT with FE v2.6.0.0 for you to try.

    Regards, Kevin

  8. I made a Mac Mah 18X12W 8ch for you, attached. Put on a USB stick and just use Load. Then it will be in the list of available fixtures. If you load a new ZerOS it will go but you can load it again. If you use it, it will save in your showfile.

It will show in red text as a "non library fixture". I put this together quickly so let me know any errors with it.

I would follow the process on the following page and ask Zero88 folk to build a fixture for the next library release:

    https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/patching/add-fixtures/missing-fixtures

EDIT: See later post for all modes fixture profile.

    Hi there Zero-ists 🙂
Here's a test of your general knowledge from the noughties: What is the correct Fixture Editor version for creating/editing profiles for a Fat Frog (2002) please?

    Hi!

I've got a Fat Frog (as well as FLX) and have used FE 2.6 successfully for years (FE 2.6 doesn't actually support the newer features of ZerOS, it's best application is for Illusion/Frog desks!). My FF does still have the floppy though (the USB mod is still in its packet in a drawer!) You seem to be aware of the difference between IFT and CFT so that's good!

Do you want to upload the manual for the fixture and I'll have a bash for you? Latest Fat Frog OS is 10.12 [which I highly recommend] (here: https://www.vari-lite.com/global/products/frog-series#_english ) although I don't recall fixture format changing, at least in the later years (I got my FF in 2006).

If you want to experiment with loading a new IFT, I just made a couple using FE2.6 for another chap. See this thread:

If I get chance today (Sun/17/Nov) I'll put these on a floppy and see if I can patch them on my FF (on FrogOS 10.12).

Note: You've posted in the "Frog2" forum, I'll ask the mods to move your post to the "Frog Range Mk1" forum.

AFX light 1820R in 12 channels
    ADJ - ikon profile
    and today I have Mac-Man - «Flat By 18x12w 6in1"

In library release 4.5 (wlll install as part of 7.14) I find the following. The ADJ must be a match but the others might not be.

You can search what is in the library from the list here: https://vari-lite.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/software-firmware/ZerOS-Library-4.5-List-of-Fixtures.csv , which is on this page: https://www.vari-lite.com/global/products/zeros-software

    For AFX 1820:

AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Arc 1
    AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Arc 1 d
AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Arc 2
    AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Arc 2 d
    AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Arc 2 S
    AFX Light ParLED 1820Z HSV
    AFX Light ParLED 1820Z Stag

I think this is your ADJ light under "American DJ":

For your Mac Mah, do you mean this one?

    https://www.sonovente.com/mac-mah-flat-par-18x12w-6in1-p93418.html

Looking on page 11 of the manual, you could quickly use the 8 channel mode with this fixture although the Amber and White would be the wrong way round:

    Generic LED - ISRGBAWUv

If you load 7.14 onto your desk, then there is now a on-desk fixture designer. You could easily put together the 8-channel fixture for the Man Mah using that and the information on page 11. See here: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/patching/add-fixtures/fixture-creator

  11. I’ll search in the library for you later to look for your fixtures.

If you loaded a 7.9 showfile it will bring the fixture information with it. So it shouldn’t matter if they are in the library or not.

When you say the spotlights are red do you mean they light up red or the text in the Fixture Patch is red? If the text is red this means ‘non library fixture’ and I would expect that if the definition came in from a showfile. That’s fine and I would expect the showfile to just work.

It would be worth checking the DMX addresses for your lights and those used in the desk patch.
