  1. Hi,

Is it posssible to install fresh software onto a flx from usb rather than from within setup?

My flx kept freezing due to bugs and now when I reboot it goes through the sequence fine and the keys work etc but as soon as the show loads it freezes again.

    Thanks

  2. Well that was an interesting week. I down graded to 7.14 as this was the last one with the library that had some of my kit but it was still freezing.

Programmed a show with ~250 cues and only 4 movers and it froze again 10 mins before doors only this time it never recovered and even after a reboot it is frozen.

Put my spare in and it loaded the show ok after a reboot to recognise the artnet node.

Probably going to look at the ION route.

  3. Glad it's not just me. It all felt very rushed getting it out before Jon left and usually by now we'd be at least a half dozen releases on as the bugs were ironed out.

fingers crossed that the regression brings back some stability.

  4. Anyone else found their FLX crashing on a regular basis since installing 8.0? We have 2 here and I used our spare at the beginning of the year on an external show after it had returned from the repair guy and loaded 8.0 on to it. During plotting the desk froze on numerous occassions especially when programming the moving lights.

My main desk in the venue continued to run 7.13 with no problems at all including using the movers once they returned.

2 weeks ago, having forgotten about the desk crashes I installed 8.0 onto the main desk and we've had half a dozen freezing/crashing issues. Swapped over to the spare desk and the same so have now dialled both back to 7.14 and will see how that goes.

No-one left at Zero to report it to or who seems to care so looks like I'll be losing all the upgrades that came with 8.0

  5. Thanks Jon.

It's a shame that one of the highlights of Rigsync is that it should find a fixture and even if it doesn't have an RDM fixture file for it , the software should build a basic one and make it work which unfortunately hasn't worked for any of the Chauvet fixtures we have.

    Cheers, Simon

  6. Hi, can someone explain how the info gets from manufacturer of fixtures to the desk manufacturers please? Is there a central store where this info is posted for all to use?

Chauvet seem to have very limited numbers of fixtures that contain RDM data (2 of the 3 I have) and Zeros doesn't create usable fixture files when it finds them which is very anoying.

    Thanks, Simon

  7. Hi,

Is it possible to change what options come up on the LCD screen when say selecting colour. ATM one of my fixtures is RGBW but the white is on pg2 and ColourMix is the 4th button on pg1. I'd like RGBW to be on page 1 if possible?

Checking the fixture file the colours are in order on the channel count.

    Thanks

  8. Where are people sending their desks for repair? Sub 24 has become very unstable and never reaching 100% .

We also have an older desk that could do with some general tlc.

    Thanks, Simon

  9. What addresses are you using? Are you using RDM?

I've had issues with non RDM fixtures flashing even if the console has RDM disabled as I think (Edward correct me if I'm Wrong) the Gateway 4 still transmits the RDM signal unless disabled in it's own config.

Hi SimonH,  I am pretty sure they will only work in FAT32 format as opposed to NTFS.  Have a go in that format if your stick is currently NTFS.  Unsure on size but as Jon mentions it should read it but just take longer to index the larger sticks.

Ok thanks for that, will give it a go

edit: just checked and my stick is already FAT32 but it is a USB 3.0

  11. Ok found the midi notes so I’ll phrase it differently.

is it possible to trigger individual cues in the flx via midi but to include point cues and still be able to see the cue stack you are running?
