Update to ZerOS-7.9.8 there are problems.

Hi everyone.

After updating the ORB XF console, there were problems with displaying on the LSD 2x control wheels of any devices with several color values, gobo, etc.

I had to roll back to 7.9.7, everything works there...

Devices in which no values were displayed: Briteq BT-575S, Briteq BT-575W, Briteq Led Mega Beam, Briteq Led Pixel bar RGB.

It is also unclear how in 7.9.8 to create a new device using Fixture Type Editor with a resolution of .zlbr

I have patched a BriteQ BT-575S into Phantom ORB XF running ZerOS 7.9.8. Selecting the fixture and tapping COLOUR, shows me "Colour Wheel" and "Colour Wheel Mode" parameters on encoders 1 and 2. Tap BEAM, and gobo controls are shown on encoders 2 and 3, tap BEAM again and I can page through.

What are you seeing when doing this? Are the encoders remaining blank (blue)? Is the "Intensity" display visible above the intensity wheel? Have you held SETUP and adjusted the LCD contrast?

The Fixture Editor software still allows you to create fixtures in the .ift file format, which can be loaded into ZerOS 7.9.8. These custom fixture files will therefore be displayed in red in Add Fixtures and the Fixture Schedule, to indicate the fixtures are not from the library. If you would like fixtures adding to the library which are missing, please email the fixture's manual to us at fixturesupport@zero88.com, and we'll be able to get this added to the library for the next release.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know.

Yes, I did so too, and in ORB XF encoders 2 and 3 remaining blank (blue), and "intensity" and 1 encoder, work. And in Phantom ORB XF everything works great. The contrast LSD checked all right.

I also tried other fixtures.. also do not work on the console.

Thank you for confirming. On ORB XF, if you select a fixture, and encoders 2 and 3 remain blank, please view the "Wheels" desktop on the external monitor. Are the parameters displayed on encoders 2 and 3 here? If you use the physical encoders, do the values change on the external monitor?

I checked... Yes, the external monitor displays and changes values... And on the console there is no...

Hi Alex,

After recording a cue with intensity information stored, please tap on the "Fade Up" or "Fade Down" fields in the Cue list window. Do the encoders display fade and delay times correctly?

Edward

Checked... same values change but are not displayed on the console LSD.

As I understood on the ORB XF console in version 7.9.8. the LSD screen does not work, and in version 7.9.7 everything works perfectly.

Thanks for all your information on this.

We have found an issue that is affecting the encoder displays on some ORB series consoles. We will look to release a bug fix for this as soon as possible.

In the meantime if you wish to roll back to ZerOS 7.9.7, please see the link below...

Thanks for posting this Alex, as a fellow ORB operator I will hold off upgrading for now.

7.9.7 question for you...

When using our MAC 250s the DMX parameters for Pan & Tilt show up as 100000 values as opposed to 0-255 or 0-100%.

Have you experienced this for any of your moving stock aswel, If so have you managed to get it to display the DMX value?

Hi Edward,

Can I down grade my Phantom ZerOS for PC using the legacy file?

I'm doing some work from home and would like my Phantom software to be the same as our physical Desk.

Thanks, Steve

Just as a bit of an update, our software team have found and fixed this issue. We will be releasing this fix in the next few weeks.

Encoder wheel displays will show the DMX value being sent to the fixture. If you are seeing a value of 0-65535, this means this is a 16bit parameter, and it therefore uses a pair of DMX channels for control, rather than a single DMX channel for 8bit parameters, with a range from 0-255.

Yes you can. The ZerOS 7.9.7 download available below contains the release notes, console software, and Phantom ZerOS...

Ah ofcourse that makes sense sorry me being an idiot! This only changed for us a few updates ago, previously they always showed as 0-255... I used to use 3 digit reference points when plotting new pallets for shows so it threw me a little haha.

Hi everyone,

exact same issue here. Had a demo of a Chauvet Maverick Silens 2 Profile today and had to use the ZerOs app to see what I'm doing on the desks encoders. Quite annoying.

I couldn't figure out a way to separately load the latest fixture library on version 7.9.7, since the Silens came out in september and isn't included in the 7.9.7 library.

In 7.9.8 it is, so I switched back and hope for a bugfix update very soon.

Really sorry to hear you have come across this issue on Orb as well.

To view the functionality of the Orb encoders, you can view the "Wheels" desktop on the external monitor.

The latest full library that was compatible with ZerOS 7.9.7 was GFT40. We now use a new format for our fixture libraries (ZLBR), which will not be compatible with ZerOS 7.9.7 and earlier.

Our software team have already fixed the issue, which will be included in ZerOS 7.9.9, currently scheduled for release by the end of the year.

If you would like access to a pre-release version of software containing the fix, please send me an email.

If you have any questions let me know.

I've just upgraded to 7.9.8 on my Leap Frog 48/96 and now can't use the Stairville MH-110 Wash 7x10 LED as the "Intensity" scroller is missing... I can pan and tilt; just can't turn the lights on :(

I'm going live with our Christmas Panto rehearsals on Monday, so any news on 7.9.9? or should I downgrade back to 7.9.6 to get the fixture library back to a known state.

By the way, the Stairville HL-x9 Quad is completely missing from the 7.9.8 update but was in the 7.9.6 so I've presumed that the HL-x18 has the same settings...

We are hoping to release a “Release Candidate” of ZerOS 7.9.9 next week to our forum beta testers. All being well with that, we will then be able to release ZerOS 7.9.9 officially. Therefore if you need to access the Intensity wheel for these fixtures on Monday, I’d recommend rolling your software back to ZerOS 7.9.7.

ZerOS 7.9.7 can be downloaded from the link below...

Please drop us a link to the missing fixture’s manual to fixturesupport@zero88.com, and we’ll add the fixture to the list to be included in a future fixture library release.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know.
