Hello,

Exemple for Color / Position changes:

So on the CUE 25:
When I press the GO button.
UP intensity: 15 sec. Color time 0 sec to have "Red" when the group LEDs 1 go up.
At the same time I would have liked to have for Group Leds 2 a Color change from Blue (CUE 24) to go towards the Red in 15 sec.
The idea being to have all the colors in 15 sec in red.

In the CUE 30
I have several "Mobile Head groupe 1" positions set that I will need to change to other specific positions on stage for CUE 31 with fade.
In CUE 31, I change positions in "10 sec" of the "Mobile Head groupe 1".

But also "Mobile Head Groupe 2" which are in good positions (must be "0sec" for be ready) and which go up on intensity...

Fixture editor

It Will good to have it for Mac OS Or to have a Editor Included in FLX...

If you need testing...

Having a RoadMap for Mac OS that coming more and more in Theater will be great. In every Theater I did last month, they have had all MacBook Air or/and MacBook Pro for playing music...

thank a lot.

Have a nice day

Hi Eric,

Thank you very much for your explanation.

This functionality would be covered by "Discrete timings on FLX (apply specific timings to specific parameters)". This will allow you to set custom timings per parameter for a cue, rather than all parameters of an attribute adhering to the cue time.

Hope this helps.

Thank Edward and Jon...

Edward can you tell me where to find "Discrete timings on FLX (apply specific timings to specific parameters)". in online manual ?

Thank Jon, so I didn't think that I Can use two separate Cue with "Auto with" the first Cue for having different actions...

It's interesting way to use this possibility for having différents actions in the same time !

Question if I'm using this possibility two Cues with "Auto With" is it possible to use different timing ? 5 sec for one Cue and 15 sec for the other ?

Thank for the information.

Eric

Edward was referring to the 3rd option in the poll - "Discrete timings on FLX (apply specific timings to specific parameters)" - so if this is a feature that you'd like to see, vote for that one 🙂

Yes, they run as two completely independent cues, just at the same time rather than after each other. It's the equivalent of "Part Cues" on other consoles (when I use them, I have my first cue as Cue X, and then use point cues for the Auto-With cues, so Cue X.1, Cue X.2 etc). Just make sure you don't tag the same parameters in both cues (and definitely don't use snapshot!).

OK, so maybe I'm the only one this has happened to but...

A few times I have had a near meltdown panic because MFFs are not doing what they should, generally they are doing nothing in fact. Once I've got my hear rate under control I start going through things logically and, very near the bottom of my list is the channels/playbacks status.

You see I never use channels, I select fixtures through touch screen or keypad and, where necessary, set intensities in the keypad. So my faders should always be in playback.

However, somehow, probably when writing on the traditional strips of LX tape above the top faders, I accidentally touch the button. The only time I need the channels/playback button is with clear to release all playbacks.

Would it be terrible to want a way to disable the option to switch between channels and playbacks in setup somewhere?

Hi David,

Thanks very much for your thoughts.

From a support point of view, adding the ability to disable the channel faders sounds like a potential headache.

When in Playbacks, the LEDs under the recorded playback faders will be lit. If the MFFs have been changed to Channels, the LEDs under the faders will be off, unless the fixtures are selected.

Something that we have discussed in the past, is making the function of the faders much more obvious in the Faders window - potentially different colours. However for this to be beneficial in your example, you would of course need to be viewing the Faders window.

I can definitely see that point. Something (anything) to draw attention to the change or current state would be good. You (or at least I) don't think clearly when caught out by this.

I'll leave this with you. You are clever folk who probably have better ideas and certainly a better appreciation of how welcome a change in this area would be.

Thanks for listening though.

  • 3 weeks later...

Intresting announcment from PLS today:

Quote

"...At Prolight + Sound 2022 we preview the ZerOS 7.12 update! This new version of ZerOS connects your console natively with luminaires and controls from other Signify brands..."

I can't remember to see this in this wishlist here... 😜

"Launched in the next month or two" said Jon.

Ah, we're back to the old project plan 🤣

So there's time there to sneak in some other stuff to keep the rest of us quiet while he deals with the new requests from the Signify suits upstairs. And anyway we've 7.11 to play with for a while - Jon cunningly slipped that one out in double-quick time to keep us occupied whilst he was tinkering on the 7.12 stuff! 😝👍

I’m allowed to have a few secrets 🙂

Vision.Net is the natural progression from our previous iCAN architectural integration - with the benefit that you don’t need additional hardware (so it works on all ZerOS consoles). We’ve had multiple requests from customers and team (especially those across the pond) for this integration.

KiNet opens a few new doors, especially for ZerOS Server.

Philips Hue is just fun 😆

I think I'm mildly excited by this development.

I get artists arrive with decorative lighting that has non-dimmable LEDs or which need ballast - I can see this being a simple way to control intensity and, more importantly, colour, from the desk, with just a change of lamp. Then there's all the hassles of prop fittings.

I wouldn't have asked for it but I can see ways I might exploit it depending, of course, on how it is actually implemented. Looking forward to getting full details. Look out Budapest Cafe Orchestra

You connect and “pair” to a Hue Bridge, and then all connected luminaires are automatically patched (just like RigSync). Once complete, you control the fixtures like any other fixtures.

However, it’s worth noting that you don’t see the same speed and responsiveness that you do with DMX based luminaires.

That's a shame but I can still see it being useful, maybe not so much for prop fittings that need to go on or off on cue but it could still be good for dressing.

It’s not “slow”, but you just can’t guarantee a simultaneous fade on DMX luminaires and Hue luminaires will be perfectly in sync. We’re still working on tidying it up, so performance might improve.

Of course, still a work in progress. Not exactly in sync shouldn't be an issue. After all, with incandescents, the actual time the light stopped varied between lamp types. I'll wait and see.

Also worth noting that Philips Hue will only be available on FLX S, FLX and ZerOS Server. It will not be available on Solution Series, ORB Series, SCD Server Pro or Leapfrog 48 & 96.

KiNet and Vision.Net will be available across all platforms.
