Selection & Intensity

Once fixtures (the term we use for "lights" or "devices") are patched into your console, they can then be controlled. There are two key elements to be aware of when controlling fixtures: Selection and Intensity.

Fixtures can be selected, which tells the console you wish to manually control this particular fixture. Once a fixture has been selected, you can then use the various fixture controls, such as the ability to change colour, to control the fixture. If a fixture isn't selected, the fixture controls will have no affect.

The selection and intensity (or brightness) of a fixture can be controlled in exactly the same way – no matter if the fixture is a basic dimmer, an LED, a moving light or any other type of fixture. Selection and Intensity can be adjusted using two primary methods; channel buttons and syntax commands.
