New Fixture - Chauvet COLOR palette... not in fixture library

Recommended Posts

My church has acquired four new COLOR Palette's from Chauvet. The current fixture library does not list these fixtures.

I was told that I could download a program to make the codes so that they will work with the board.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to write code to make a light work with a board.

I am hoping to seek information on how I can get it made, or where I can find the codes to use these lights.

Any help or suggestions would be a great help, and would be much appreciated. ;)

We are using a Fat Frog board.

If a fixture parameter uses a single DMX channel it is 8 bit (0-255).

If a fixture parameter is spread over two DMX channels (eg Pan Coarse, Pan Fine) it is 16 bit (0-65535).

I got someone to make the profile for me now. I have a problem with getting it onto the board. I have used a formatted board disk, and the file is on the disk, but whenever you go to upload the file from the disk, it does not recognize that it is even there. What do you do there?

Make sure the file you created has a short name without any spaces, and a .IFT extension, e.g.

CHAUVET.IFT

Try loading the file onto the offline editor Phantom Frog. Also try loading fixture personalities on the desk from the standard fixture library disk supplied with it. These tests should tell you whether the problem is with the file or with the floppy drive on the desk.
