  1. I have the BULLFROG console and have a strange problem and I trying to duplicate to see when it happens. The problem is, sometimes the names I have for the POSITION pallets just disappear! The color pallets and everything else are still ok - Anyone seen this?
  2. I use a 15" LCD monitor (oder HP model) for our bullfrog - works great
  3. ah! that explains it! Now that you mentioned it - I did find that out earlier in the day when I was playing around with it.

    Keyboard GO

If this is still being looked at - why not the enter key for GO? Maybe 30 Enter (then on the screen you can verify where your at ) then Enter again would make it GO
  5. how about executing Macros from the keyboard? Say press M then 1 for Macro 1 and enter would then start it.
  6. Thats what I want to keep from going on - the lightboard is in the back of the room and on different nights, its full of kids that like to turn knobs and slide things up and down  on my old lightboard, I would just create a macro that would PARK all dimmers at certain levels and you had to know what macro to enter to unpark them.
  7. Thanks for the quick response - I was certain that I had ONLY the MARTINS tagged and not the mirrors when recording them in the submaster. I will try again and see what happens. It was not a submaster I was trying to edit live but a memory, I had all submasters faders down then GO on memory 30. Then I hit edit and that when they went out - I will try that again as well. Maybe I did something else.

    Keyboard GO

since we can punch in the memory we want to go to and hit enter why not also have a GO on the external keyboard? SPACE bar, G key or something like that.
  9. I would like to have an additional lock code that would lock/unlock the desk so not even memories or submasters could be played.
  10. I think it would be nice to have the F keys as macros. I had one on my old light board. This way when people go in, they can press a key to just turn on certain lights and then another to turn them off. Currently doing this on submasters but sometimes the page gets changed. I may just end up hooking up some remote switches to do this.
  11. I know this is all training issues - I am getting close to getting this board down. It’s a complete different way of doing things then on the ETC but I expected that. Thanks to all for posting replies to my previous questions and putting up with me! After working long hours at work and having kids at home to tend to, doesn’t leave me much play time on the board. I did use the board for our concert/youth group we had last night and all went pretty well. Just a few more things that I am trying to figure out. I have 2 Martin 250's, 4 scrollers and 4 mirrors all set up as fixtures then my other conventials. I then have some memories set for different things (sermon, drama etc…) and on the submasters I have effects for the Martins. So everything was going for the music, using Submasters, FROG etc… It then came time for the message. I pulled all the submasters down - went to my memory for the message and it looked like my mirrors where parked at 0,0 instead of how I had them setup to point to places on the stage. So this made them point out in the crowd. So I tried to do a quick EDIT and hit the EDIT button thinking I could just pull down the fader for them. This cause all the lights to go out except the scrollers that where on RED - so everything turned RED  . Recovered pretty quick by jumping back to the memory again ( but my scrollers never changed to white, they stayed on red and that is position 0). Then I later I read in the book that "Outputs from the PRESET faders and Current Memory on Playback X are faded out" This seems odd to me - what if I want to adjust a fader LIVE without causing anything else to happen? What is the problem with my mirrors? It looks like anytime I use a submaster to play an effect I have, it moves the mirrors to 0,0 that I don’t even want to be using anyway. I have the board in PARTIAL mode and have only my MARTINS tagged when recording the submaster - is it also recording the mirror positions? If so, if I had all submasters down, played the memory I had to set the mirrors, why didn’t it move them the way I had it when I recorded the memory? What I want to happen is to be able to play a memory that sets my mirrors positions, scrollers and other conventials and just have my Martins on the submasters and be able to use the submasters without it effecting my memory playbacks. I have some other problems where I had to HOME my Martins and then pull up the submaster again after using several effects because the positions where off. And other time where I was supposed to have only one Martin on but the other one had the dimmer open too. But I think that is because maybe I had something going on with a memory playback or another submaster - to fix that I just selected the fixture and pulled the dimmer down. Sorry for the long post - its just going to be a couple more days before I can go back and try and figure out what's going and just wanted to post this to get some ideas - the main thing I need to get working are the mirrors positions to stay where I want them. I tried to set a position palette but that wouldn’t work either. One other question, I really don’t understand LTP and LTP trigger level. Does LTP have something to do with my mirrors issue? How exactly does LTP work and what is trigger level 5% mean, 5% of what? And what examples can you give where you would set different LTP Trigger levels? Thanks so much
  12. If I have a memory entry, how can I edit it to just adjust the brightness on one of the conventional lights? Example: on memory 12 say I have channel 1,2,3,4 at 50 and I want to make channel 3 35, how would I do that?
  13. Using the BULLFROG. I want to create a CHASE where Channel 1 is up, then Channel 2 comes and Channel 1 goes down, Channel 3 comes - Channel 2 down etc... Followed procedure in the book like this Started the chase memory and brought up channel 1 then for the next step brought 1 down and 2 up and recorded that step all the way to 15. The results - Channel 1 came on, then 2, then 3 - 15 then all off and repeated. How do I get a chase of just one light at a time ? I had to leave the site and came home to play around with it more with the PHANTOM FROG - Can you not program a chase with the software? I held down the memory type button and it wouldnt switch to CHASE. Thanks
  14. SUPER! Thank you so much for your help and quick replies! I am very anxious to get this set up and running!
  15. Pallets idea sounds good. Once I know how to use those. At least I know it can be done. Thanks.
  16. So how do you patch that in if the dimmer is not consective of the scroller? The dimmer is on say channel A010 and the scroller is on channel B0111. I am not in front of the board right now so maybe its obvious. I was trying to look at this using the offline editor but cant figure out how to get into superuser mode + - ENTER with the offline editor.
  17. Have 2 Martins 250 Entours. With the ETC board, I would manually punch in the dimmer channel and set it to a level to send the LAMP ON command. Can I still do this on the Bullfrog? Say B020 AT 10? Or am I going to need to set up a submaster just to do this? I also had a couple MACROS to close the dimmer in case something went wrong. Whats the norm for using MARTINS on the BULLFROG? I dont have them set as LAMP ON on POWER ON as then we would have to use the breaker in the back to turn them off and on but perhaps I may rethink that. And sometimes I have to send a reset command to them as well (B020 AT 85) I currently do have them set as FIXTURES. I am hoping there is way to reset the HOME position that is programmed in as well. As the HOME position will point right where people are sitting. I downloaded the fixture editor and looks like I can modify that.
  18. I have the Bullfrog board and just started to get it all set up. So I am sure I will be posting more questions here. I have a few scrollers on some par cans. Can I program these as a fixture so I can control the color with one wheel and the light/dimmer with another wheel? As an example, my dimmer is on A030 and the scroller is on B100. Can these be the same fixture? I would also like to do this with my mirrors. I made a patch for them to adjust position but would like to add in the dimmer to a wheel so I can control the light output of the par can they are on. Thanks
  19. Yes, I have decided on the Bullfrog. Thanks
  20. OK, this is the last question for now. I have not been through all of the manual yet. On the FROG series, can you program up effect/subroutine queues like on the ETC? Where I can have several steps on a queue and execute them in a loop? Currently, I have an effect on the ETC that flashes certain lights and loops. And another one that makes my scrollers scroll back and forth to change colors in a loop. And yet another one that sweeps the Martins in a certain path back and forth. Just things like that. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for all the replies, I downloaded the manual and the disappointing offline editor. I was really getting pumped reading the manual as there is a lot of things about the ETC that I wished it could do and the Bullfrog can do that! So much for an editor though. a few other boards I have looked at have a MIDI and Ethernet connection - am I going to wish I had those? I dont really think I would use them but spending the money on a new lightboard, I want to be sure and get one that will do things I want in the future. I am sitting at about 99% sure on the Bullfrog now. Thanks again.
  22. I took over the running the lights at our church a couple years ago. We have an ETC 24/48 light board with 4 mirror/lights combo, 4 color scrollers and about 25 Altman lights. I recently added 2 Martin 250 Entours that work great. So with all this, it maxed our our dimmers on the board and we are looking to purchase more moving heads in the future. So I have been looking around at some different light boards. I like the features of the FROG series since they can generate effects on the fly. We usually have the same cues with step through for sermons and have the mirrors do different spots depending on the dramas we have. We do have a concert about once a week. This is where I wish I had more control of whats going on. I am hoping the FROG can help. During songs I would like to change the speeds of the Martins on the fly and it just takes to long with the ETC board. Is this something the FROG can help me with? I currently have to preset some cues with different effects and speeds and just to them depending on what I want. It looks like the FROG series give you more on the spot control so you dont have to preset so much - am I correct? Also when it says 96 channels with 24 fixtures, does this mean that the fixtures do not take up a channel as it does on the ETC that I have? Is there a WYSIWYG editor for the Bullfrog where you can just program on PC and then load up in the Bullfrog? Are there any problems anyone can foresee in replacing the ETC with the Bullfrog? Is it as simple as plugging in my DMX cable and setting up the patch to the channels I want for our scollers, mirrors and altman lights and then setting up the Martins? I do already have a map of the dimmer number to light. Its currently a headache on this ETC as I we have our normal cues on the A/B side and then also bring up effect cues for the Martins on C/D side and that throws off the flow for the A/B side so you have to recue the same thing on the A/B side - ok I am rambling here and that dont make sense! Thanks for all the answers!
