  1. Hi I'm in a position at the moment where I'm putting together proposals for what we should run (lighting wise) at a large youth event that may take place at the National Indoor Arena (old home of the Gladiators TV show) in Birmingham. At present this is what I'm envisioning being on the set: On truss: 10x Mac 250's 20x Mac 300's 5 x Max 2000's 20 x Par Cans 6 x profiles On stage: 10 Mac 250's 10 Mac 300's Also a further 15 or so par cans on stage 20 x LED banks (Pixeline battens) Of course I don't know if I'll get the budget to hire this glorious stack of kit However, what I need to know is 1: once a show is designed with all this stuff within a WYSIWYG evironment, will it be possible to transfer it to a FROG2 board, and 2: (if 1 is possible) would a frog 2 still be a good choice for this size of rig or would I be better off going for a something akin to a GrandMA board for the event? Any advice would be much appreciated. Incidently if anyone could recommend any good WYSWYG software that'd be great! Kind REgards Pete F
  2. Thanks for the help guys. I'll give it a go. Kind Regards Pete
  3. HI I've posted a few messages on here regarding a system crash I encountered last weekend on our fat frog: http://support.zero88.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1341 Thing is I have now installed the updated firmware (we were previously operating on version 9.6). This has now cured the problem with the strange text on the screens. HOWEVER, I now have a new problem. Basically the system was set up by a fairly well known UK installer. Here's the list of fixtures we had assigned to the intelligent section of the desk: Fixture 1: Martin Mac250 Krypton Fixture 2: Martin Mac250 Krypton Fixture 3: Martin Mac250 Krypton Fixture 4: Martin Mac250 Krypton Fixture 5: Martin MiniMac Wash Fixture 6: Martin MiniMac Wash Fixture 7: Martin MiniMac Wash Fixture 8: Martin MiniMac Wash Since installing the firmware I've had to reassign the fixtures as usual. But here's the problem. All the Mac250's operate properly. However, the minimacs assigned to fixtures 4 & 5 work via the selection buttons for fixtures for fixtures 7 & 8. And the fixtures intended for buttons 7 & 8 don't work at all. I've auto repatched the system and reset DMX outputs as well as power cycling the desk several time. None of these efforts have cured the problem...... any ideas??? Ok I've kept working on the desk, and finally figured it out. For some reason the auto patching wasn't working properly. But now I've managed to get it to work - basically I took the plunge and manually patched it. It's all working fine now. Thanks for lookin anyway! Kind Regards Pete Fernando
  4. Hi Well at the time I was creating a show from scratch for a new cue sheet I'd been provided with for the songs that were being played that night. I've tried to keep copies of each week's setup on disk since the start. Currently I am the only operator of the desk. But I think there are one or two sound guys who like to 'try their hand' at using the desk when I'm not there. Because our install isn't completed yet, I can't really offer anyone training as yet. In two weeks time I should be able to tho..... we're going to be putting the board on a key operated switch soon anyway, so that should stop prying hands. I'll check the software version tommorrow. We're receiving training from our supplier on our new sound desk so I'll get the frog board sorted at the same time. Cheers for the help! Kind Regards Pete
  5. Hi We've had a new install at our church which included a chilli dimmer pack, fat frog 4x minimac and 4x Mac 250 and a load of par cans. The stage setup regarding lighting is pretty symettrical Now the question I have is, I know the macs can be set to be inverted. That is great. But not great if I don't want them inverted all the time. Is there any way of inverting them from the desk. And if so is there any way of limiting the inversion setting only during certain scenes and/or chases. Am I overlooking something simple by asking for this kind of functionality or does it seem logical? I have a reasonable amount of knowledge regarding DMX lighting and can find my way around most boards given about half an hour. (Mainly having worked on smaller GLP and Martin boards in the past). I still wouldn't call myself a pro, cuz I'm learning BIG TIME. Any info on this topic would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Pete Fernando
  6. Hi We've recently had a fat frog installed at our church. We've used it successfully for the past 6 or so weeks with few problems (I've pretty much mastered the basics of it, and have started to get adventurous with the moving heads - creating chases etc....) Last Sunday however, the board threw a wobbly. random text appeared on the screen in places during an edit. When I came out of edit mode, I realised that when I selected a scene or memory to either edit or view, the index for the selected item was not labelled with a number - instead it was labeled with "......" also if I tried to edit any of the attributes for that item I would have the same problem. The "....."text would appear both on the RGB output as well as the LCD screen on the board. The text would flash back temporarily to what it should be when changin a parameter but this would only last while a button was pressed. I tried power cylcing the board a few times and that didn't help either. I'm going to reflash the system with the firmware supplied with the desk (I'm sorry I don't have the version to hand) to see if this will cure it...... any ideas what might have caused this otherwise cuz I really can't have this happening again 20 mins before a service. I'll post more info once I'm back in front of the desk and reflashing it. Laters Pete Fernando
