  1. You need to have DMX device on the input to patch directly "DMXIn" fixtures. You can use empty MFK's fixtures position to patch dimmers to, and set the DMX In address in "Edit fixtures" menu. This way, you will also be able to manually control those dimmers using your third wheel on Position page (Intensity), same as for inteligent lights. This way you can also still patch them in submasters and memories.... Note: Even if you have external DMX device on the input, it needs to have Flash buttons, if you only have faders, you won't be able to patch it. Console will only detect it if it snaps (= 0 to >95% in the moment...), so you can't use fader for this. You can use fader only device though, if you patch via MFK as described above. Wings: Enttec programming wing and Shortcut wing seems to not work, so I'd guess playback wing is the only one supported....
  2. @Jon, I'd be happy to send you over my showfile from my latest setup I've been doing for the last 2 days. Steps made: - Fresh install 7.8.2 on the desk - No scenes loaded, just 3 user fixtures, and freshly patched complete mixer - Together: 20 Movers, all 48 Analog dimmers + 3 DMX In dimmers (patched on MFK and used DMX In as trigger) - 12 color palettes, 13 beamshape palettes, 12 position palettes, 19 groups - 2 submasters, both controlling only intensity of 2 groups of MHs - 1 Memory, used for template on Clear - Cooper C. LF Playback wing connected - Disabled outputs 3&4 as they're not used, thought it would help... Simptoms so far: - LCDs are refreshing disturbingly slow - Whole desk has a lot of delay. When flashing those 2 submasters in rate of around 2Hz (each is activaded within the second, the other just between), output has delay of aprox one step. Meaning, when I flash group 1, group 2 is actually outputed. - Without external touch display it's completely blind working... Ps: other noticed things in 7.8.2 that are bothering us: - Numlock on external keyboard is still inversed - On fixtures that have Pan&Tilt in 8 bit mode, with FPan and FTilt separately controlled, fade time, effects and fader-driven position change on submasters only affects the Pan and Tilt channels, using 8 bit mode, which leads to stepping effect... Meanwhile using 16 bit mode is almost impossible with the wheels, as they're way to inpredictable to be used Live in that mode! (No, unfortunatelly changing wheel sensitivity does not help much...) - Effects offset mode seems to be broken? (Or I'm doing something really wrong). I remember clearly that I used to set Shift+Offset to randomize movements, now all it does is spreading the pairs a little. Movers 1-6 still work the same (mirrored) in pairs 1-6, 2-5, 3-4, and I can't seem to randomize this. - It would be useful to be able to have DMX In used for something else, at least to work with 1ch Scroller (I was able to patch it, but didn't work.). The way it is now, that Inputs can only control intensities, its not possible to have anything "Blackout" resistent. In a theatre, this is a must-have, as there are house lights that needs to be on at all times, and since they're in the same universe as half of their dimmers, there's a trouble. Sidenote: - It would be helpful to have such (basic) things solved in understandingly short time frame. There are things that we've been waiting for way too long now... :/ PS: Is "Load"ing the specific Memory (into the programer?) = applying it with parameters tagged? Is there any reasonable explanation why, on Cleared console, with Memory 1 applied, 4 of the movers, which are supposed to change position on Memory 2, are already in that position on Memory 1? And, at the same time, when on memory 1, if this same memory Loads into the programer, those movers jump to the position they're supposed to be in the first place...? And they jump back when clearing...? It's like some "leak" or something.... Could you please check that?
  3. @keredyelesob -> I don't quite get you now. Your last paragraph says that A, B faders controls 1-48 -> which is wide mode, -> then you said that what master depends on the mode the preset control is in -> by "mode" you mean wide or 2-preset, or A or B mode...? I think the easiest/clearest way to solve this will be if I make a short video. @Jon, I have to say, I gave 7.8.2 yesterday a try, but, after having a few issues with the installer itself, once finally booted in, it is still slower than 7.7... :/ No showfile loaded, empty desk...
  4. Yep, I know its possible to record button presses, which I did, to fast jump for +5, +10, -5 and -10, which still makes jumping faster than with page up/down buttons. Though, since macros have an option to record "Command", I was hoping that there exists such command, as you mentioned, sub-page-x... Too bad it doesn't. :/ Thanks for the thread as well. I hope it actually will be made sometimes soon... actually soon
  5. Thank you for taking time to check this. So, to clarify: in Wide mode, your bottom ( faders control channels 25 to 48, not 1-24??? And you basically have 2 separate "grandmasters", one for channels 1-24, and one for 25-48, is that correct?
  6. Hi Is there any way of creating macro or something else that would jump straight to specified submasters page? If not, could this be added to feature request list? Under "urgent" ? I imagine this is not that much to do, just snap to some page instead of going slowli through Up/Down pages... Could come very very handy, since page up/down function is rather slow... this would make the console pretty closer to the avolite's cueroller... Thanks!
  7. Thank you. I'd be glad if you could check this, if nothing else, just to confirm if it's a bug or am I missing a point somewhere.... Thank you also for the hint on LTP/HTP behaviour. Never really checked that... Handy New software... well, I'm not sure I'm gonna stay on this one anyway, I'll most probably jump back to 7.7, as I just read that LCD refresh was not solved just yet anyway, so... But don't want to experiment too much at least until I get this show done, so... I'm gonna stick to current version at least for a week or so... Thanks so far. Cheers!
  8. I'm running 7.8.1.25 It's first time I ever used more than 20 analog faders, as I have most of things usually patched at MFK, and call through submasters (this is due to Clear clearing faders too, which I don't fancy, jumping from Avolites to ZerOS and back quite often...) The thing is: at Two preset mode (LEDs on Preset control button active), I seem to have available 48 channels, 24 on faders A, and 24 on faders B. Even if Master B is on 0, faders on B do work as if they were regular analog faders. Master A DOES affect them. At the same time, if I press "preset control" button, to change to the "B Faders, A stored" mode, it seems like whole image of 48 faders is stored as "Cue A", and I get to create another, "Cue B" image, which can than be activated via crossfade of Master A and master B faders... Meanwhile, when in Wide mode, the Preset control button is disabled, and I get only 24 channels active, on both, A and B faders at the same time! Fader B1..B24 controls same channel as Fader A1..24.... The one that has higher value is used for setting output value ( HTP mode). In this mode - wide mode - , the master A and master B faders work as intended. Master A controls group of A faders, master B group of B faders. So I can crossfade between scene set on faders A and scene set on faders B. Is this how this should work? From manual, and from your comment, I'd say it's just the opposite. Anyway, main question at this time: Is there any way / setting on the console, so that I can get 48 faders, completely independent from any storing on the desk? Like, I'm ok with having A and B masters to be masters of A and B faders, like in my "Wide" mode, I'd just like to have 48 channels control. Thanks! *feelingdumb*
  9. I don't get it. From manual: 48 faders controls 24 channels in two preset mode and 48 channels in wide mode. In practice: In wide mode I get 24 channels, working in HTP mode, where I can crossfade between the setup from Faders A to Faders B and backwards as I want. In Two preset mode, I get 48 channels, where I can crossfade between currently active preset and stored preset (which was stored when the preset control button was pressed). When did this change? It took me quite some time to figure out what is going on... Is this behaviour expected?
  10. I've written quite a lot here, but decided to rather delete it and go in another way. Don't want to be rude or anything, but Jon, "you're using 3x more submasters as the desk was originally designed for". - The desk's software allows us to have 30 submasters. Using Input as additional triggers is a hack, due to software not letting us assign faders to anything we'd want. On the other hand, you (Zero88 crew, don't recall exactly who) was the one who mentioned this exact hack here on the forum in the first place... Second thing is usage of external playback wings. Isn't this exactly what they were designed to be used for? I imagine you don't really need LF Playback wing on Solution/Leapfrog XL versions, as you have all 30 submasters available, so you can't trigger anything else (triggering submasters on other than active page is not possible anyway). So the only thing they would be use for are to be extended playback/submasers fader surface, which somehow leads to what you just said is "something that the desk was not designed for". What's the point of having Playback wing then?
  11. Hi, Jon. Thank you for your extended answer. Can't wait for that renewed version, then. I hope those 23 issues solved will be those I wish they would... ArtNet Node mode: -> Well, you are correct on this one, but I wasn't refering to just use ArtNet to 4 Uni dmx out and the desk to rest; More of an option to select that, so that I can use let's say 2 universes from ArtNet and control the other 2 from the desk. It would come handy for use with ArtNet driven software for PixelMapping, for example, without the need to use external nodes.. Nothing vital, it was just an idea for additional option implemented, in case it's not requiring too much work to be done on the software... Inputs: Awaiting for ZOS-2718 to be made, then... DMX Input: Yes, if I understood correctly your idea, this should also do the trick. The main point is, that after the DMX input is received, it is: a) forwarded to the actuall output ( would be better if directly, not via grandmaster etc, since I don't want to interfere with the work of another LD but rather just "hijack" his data... ), b ) applies to the fixture patching in such way, that if I then create a new position palette, it still saves Pan and Tilt parameters of that fixture with values that are passed from the input. As far as I remember, I think I was already added (or maybe not?) to that list... well at least I did receive the beta software couple months ago... I'll check the beta forum as well, Thanks!
  12. @Jon, received the email with the APK. Works as it used to. Thanks. Can't wait for the new version of it in the Beta forum...
  13. Any news for any of the requested features...? Also, is there any way you could implement an option to use the desk as ArtNet to DMX node? And also to use ArtNet as DMX Input, for same purpouse as phisical DMX Input is used for triggering additional submasters, let's say...? Also, a nice handy thing could be to be able to patch Dmx IN to Dmx OUT (one of the free outputs), to have a loop-through, with the ability to take a "snapshot" of the dmx values combined with patching, so that I could, let's say, save position palettes for my patched fixture by capturing the other desk's positions (Scenario: I come to a venue to work with my own console, where the local LD works with his own. In order to speed up programming, capturing his positions (other palettes as well) could be very very handy, to create palettes superfast and spare some precious time, which is always missing... In order to know which channels are P/T, which are colors, etc, the desk would, of course, need to compare input values with the current patching info. But I believe it's not that much to handle, now is it? anyway, more than anything, I'm really looking forward to hear any status updates about the software releases and some wuite basic functions implemented and bugs solved. Otherwise, I must say, sadly, I'm really looking to sell my console since, apart from the fact that it's still pretty unstable and is missing some quite basic functions, there are other solutions much more advanced and even cheaper out there available. :// I know its not that easy, but, seriously, how long is it since you've presented new ZerOS on PLASA, and how many updates have you released ever since, that would make significant changes to the current OS? It just feels really really slow! :/
  14. After almost 2 months, I'll just repost the last question: Do you have a date for this release? (at least beta)? Also, why did you remove the current/old version off the market anyway? It's really unlogical that you remove the old app because you're working on new version. I thought this is why the "Update" button on the market was implemented in the first place...? Anyway. Do you plan to release any technical/protocol info for us - users - to program our own app as well...? It would be really great if you could give us at least that documentation, since, unfortunatelly, your development really takes quite some time :// I'd really be interested in taking a shot on this one. After all, it's just networking. And nowadays pretty much every manufacturer provides documentation for custom software builds....
  15. Nope. It does close within few seconds, but Windows still reports AppCrach afterwards. "The application has closed unexpectedly". Error module: ntdll.dll Win7 x64 Home Premium, quite fresh install (couple months...) Same issue for long time now...
  16. Try this order instead: 1. Copy button 2. Select the source 3. Enter 4. Destination 5. Enter 6. Enter ?
  17. Thank you for quick reply. I also hope you will find a solution asap. Fully occupied (filled) displays for MFKs takes far too long for the desk to be operatable.... :/ I reinstalled 7.6 but hope to get 7.9 with this solved soon. Good luck on this one!
  18. Hi. One more "bug" or maybe more of a question if it's normal: I've had 7.8 running on Solution, and yesterday updated my just bought Leap Frog 48. On both it seems that 7.8 made LCD screens on MFK and Submasters working rather slow. Very very slow. They refresh only after a second or even two sometimes... was this behaviour noticed before..? to me it's strange especially for Solution to have this problem, since it's newer model of LF48.... ? Regards, Marko
  19. Ok. Got it (partially) for the Phantom, thanks for your reply. As for your kast sentence, doesn't seem like I will. Got a crash on my first day playing around with it. :/ I'll contact you directly for support, in case this will be possible...
  20. Hi guys. It's been more than a while since I've used Zero88 consoles, since I switched to a different company which held Avolites only, but now got an opourtunity to buy Leap frog 48 for rather low price, so I did, because I loved that desk the time I worked with it, although there were quite a few software issues I'd love to have solved... I'm getting it within a few days. Anyway, since my last usage, you made an update to 7.8. Haven't been able to check all of the changes just yet, but I already have an issue that I really can't deal with: Phantom ZerOS on Windows still has issues when exiting the application. I clearly remember this issue on Windows 7. I'm using 8.0 now, and it's still the same. Every time I try to quit the app with either Alt+F4, Close button, or even End task via task manager, the output monitor window reappears in another instance, so after trying a while I got like 20 instances of Output monitor window. What's the secret in exiting this app? Also, 2 different issues: First run - freeze with output monitor saying something like "Nothing to load" or something.... Nest start, I got "Non-Volatile RAM retention test failed. The internal battery may need replacing - Please contact a service agent". Why would I get these errors in Phantom ZerOS? I really hope the software works out better on the console itself.... :/ Hope to get your reply!
  21. In case they would put out documentation about the remote functionality, and, in case there isn't just yet, implement completely whole surface control via ethernet, I could do Android app too. Although I'm interested in doing wireless standalone remote controller based on Atmel microprocessor...
  22. Hi there. Do you plan to make any future updates anytime soon? Also, is there any possibility to get network remote documentation for ZerOS..? I've been writing remote control software for OSC protocol and specifically Behringer's audio digital desk X32 for a while now, and have done some good things. I'd love to give it a shot and create ZerOS remote softwares, as I'd really love to use my PC as remote control as well; The PhantomZerOS is useless due to it's resolution limitations and small interface on big screens... :// It would be awesome to get documentation for full desk control over ethernet. Regards, Marc
  23. Thanks for reply. I'm looking forward to get to our desk tomorrow and put an update on. Hope it'll get through with no surprises, and looking forward to meet updates and fixes. All I have on my mind to ask now is, about the PhantomZeros. Even after installing new version, 7.6, I can't seem to close program normally. When closing both, the console windows and output monitor view, I got the little form still active, and when pressing the X to close it (it seems like the only option, as there are no other buttons available), the output monitor view form blinks a few times, and then stays blank but active on top of the small start-up form, and sometimes in a few seconds I get the "Program PhantomZerOZ is not responding. Click Close to end the program", but sometimes I even have to go to task manager to end the process. What is the case with that? Is it normal behaviour, or is that just on my machine? I have these problems ever since using it, even with 7.3 and 7.4... Are you familiar with this problem too? My operating system is Windows 7 Home-Premium 64-bit on Dell Studio 1749 laptop, and the other is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit PC machine running Intel i7. Thanks in advance, Marc.
  24. Hello again. Replying to this thread directly as it's the best way of asking, I think.. So, about all those crashes - I've had a lot of them recently on my desk, but being patient waiting for new software, so I've been checking every while for it, and looks like we finally got it! Thanks for that. First of all, I want to say, that based on the release notes, it looks like the 7.4.0 had a lot of bugs and troubles, and that you fixed a lot of stuff. Great job, and I'm thankful for that. However, I'd like to ask, if there were any major changes and fixes with desk freezing, crashing, and especially slowly working and slow responses...? Since I always read about next release to be zerOS 8.0, but now you surprised us with 7.6. .Is that just the in-between version, and are we to be expecting the new version as soon as possible, or is that it, and are you going to plan newer version only if and after bugs appear? Thanks //// Edit: Looks like in last month didn't check well enough the updates section, as you answered all of my questions there in one of the topics. Sorry for pulling this threat up with no reason!! Cheers, Marc.
  25. Hello. Thanks for your (very quick) response. As far as I'm informed, the wing used to work with the desk, but can't personally confirm this, since it's information from our (firms) previous light tech. I've been working here for a few years, and never even knew about it till march this year, then tried it, when didn't work left it aside. Now it got under my hands at our warehouse so I decided to come to the bottom of this problem.. Please let me know if you find anything... Thanks.
