King Tuts Engineer Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Our venue has an old lightmaster xls which has served well. Several months ago a touring sound engineer plugged in his outboard into the same 4 way that the desk was plugged in and blew the 4 ways fuse. After that dmx stopped working on the desk. Our dimmers are fine and so is the smoke machine and moving lights. If i hooked up the desk directly to a dmx device it seems not to be recieving dmx. we purchased a replacement desk (jester ml24) but it would be nice to be able to use the old desk aswell hooked through the jester. Is this an easy fix?
KWR88 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Most likely failure of the DMX driver IC inside the unit. Should be a reasonably easy fix as the driver is socketed.
