I've tested your theory but there's still a problem.

To test I just went to a completely blank memory put channel 1 up to full and programmed. When I go into preview it reads the following;

1; FF

2-10; --

11-20; FF

It just so happens that on my Patch Plan channels 11-20 are my General Cover (FRESNELS) . The only thing I can think of that might be connected is that I have a Sub Master with all of my Fresnels on but when I programmed the memory all my Sub Masters were definitely at 0% Any Idea whats going on?

Cheers

FF = Full = 100%

I think this terminology is fairly common when displaying brightness (HTP) levels on screen. "FF" is used because it only uses two characters and therefore makes the screen layout much simpler :)

FF = Full = 100%

this is the usual or common term for full ( 100 % ) in Lighting

due to hex writing in digital world there FF is 255 !

I think this is why zero88 and others use the FF to store and display the value.
