  1. Theoretically using lxkev's implimentation of it, it should be just as simple as adding another submaster - the problem would come if you had two chases plotted. LTP data from one and LTP data from the second would conflict with each other and cause you enormous processing problems. If you could stick to generics only, on an HTP basis, then it would be relatively simple.
  2. I think you may have slightly misunderstood linked cues. The theory is that they run on top of each other - so in cue 3 in my example, i may have the main stage wash plotted. In the chase cue, 945, I would have just a chase plotted (with no general wash) - the two mixed on an HTP basis means that you get a wash with a chase running indipendantly. This has several advantages, as you can edit the chase without having to modify the general wash, and the chase can be referenced multipul times within the cue stack. Obviously this requires a lot of processing, and a lot of thought to impliment. On the Strand consoles, the key sequence is something like RECORD CUE # + FX 945 * (or a - instead of a +, to deactivate) IIRC How this would be implimented, I imagine, would be to use something along the lines of the "transfer" buttons. Hope this explanation is slightly clearer.
  3. A link is a cue which triggers another cue simulaneously - as found on the Strand 300 and 5x0 series. It means you could have all your chases plotted on cues 900 onwards, and then reference them in your main cue stack cues 1 to 100. So cue 3 might trigger cue 945 to activate, and cue 4 to deactivate it. Personally, I think this is a little beyond the user interface of the Frog - it would end up being a complicated series of button presses to set up. As for a step button on the remote, this would be very useful. You could also link that in to the "live editing of chase speed" In the mean time, lxkev, you could make up a "step" button by shorting out the two poles on a jack plug using a press switch. This, complete with a chase on "audio trigger", acts as a step button.
  4. I've been thinking about this, and if you really needed to patch multiple channels to a single fader, you could bodge it like this: Providing your dimmers have both DMX and Analogue connections, you could connect a Demux to the DMX line, address it at 49 (or whatever) and patch those addresses to the desk channels. Then connecting each line from the Demux to the dimmers would give you two individual channels both capable of controlling the same dimmer. Its not a solution, but it would work.
  5. The problems you describe are due to an older software version. To upgrade the desk, you just download the software file, put it onto a blank floppy disk, and boot up the desk with the software disk in. You will lose any show information saved, so make sure you take a backup.
  6. I'd vote for this - was talking about it just the other day with a colleague. I don't know how it would effect the size of the fixture file though - remember, it has to fit on a floppy disk.
  7. In which case, could it be added to the Reference list for consideration? It would effectively make each submaster into their own playback, which would be a considerble advantage at little to no increase in processing.
  8. Would it be possible to set the submaster flash button to step the chase?

  10. K9, I think lxkev meant being able to record "shapes" into position pallets, which would be very useful indeed. To a certain extent, the same would be true of being able to record FROG's to pallets (along with the desk remembering which attributes haven't been FROG'd, speeds, etc...)
  11. Hello Love Phantom Frog - long awaited and much appreciated. Just wondering what the chances are of linking it into a visualisation package (Avolites Vis, Martin Show Designer, Cast WYSIWYG, etc) I appreciate that the software is not intended as a full operating interface, but being able to pre-program a show offline would be wonderful. Theres no pleasing some of us - keep up the good work.
  12. Try clicking "Run" in the startup window
  13. It would be useful for the keyboard to replicate the arrow keys when in monitor view. Also, the desk defaults to having the Grand Master at 0% - its not unbearable, just annoying.
  14. I can't seem to be able to access the Effect line on Phantom Frog (although I can edit other attributes using the left hand thumb wheel) Is this a bug? Also, is there any way to link Phantom Frog into WYSIWYG, Martin Show Designer or similar?
  15. They've done better than that - check out the Downloads section of the Zero88 site...
  16. Jan, I think you may have misunderstood. Zero88 have JUST released an offline editor, which is an offline simulation of the Frog series desks. You can create shows, edit shows and perform all the functions as if you had a desk in front of you. You can download it from the download section of the zero88 site.
  17. You need an audio feed terminating in a 1/4" Jack. You plug this in to the "sound to light" connector on the back of the desk. When plotting chases, change the trigger from "auto" to "vari" or "bass" and the chase will react to the sound. Hope this helps. Edit: I hate people who type faster than me!
  18. Dan...call me and i'll talk you through it (Have you got the fixture profile that I emailed you?!)
  19. According to the PLASA Show website, Zero88 are exhibiting. Does that mean no pub for us?
  20. Is there any way you could integrate an indication of how long the A to B crossfade timer (next to the Wide, Blackout and Lock buttons) is set to, on the screen? It would be exteremely useful for long crossfades, as the log. scale makes it difficult to guess precise timings. Thanks Peter
  21. What you do is set up all 10 fixtures in their allotted beam/colour/pos for Pallet 1, then create it. When you select Group1, and apply pallet 1, they go to the value they were at when you created that pallet. Irrelevant of what the Group2 fixtures were doing in that pallet, unless they too are selected. Does that make sense?
  22. Whilst on the subject, a recess for a standard keyboard would also be useful. And the FatFrog case definatly has a problem if you want to use a standard Jack plug for the audio-in feed. Also, we use a short littlelight with our Fat Frog - so the large slot is redundant (as you can't fit the short one in). Perhaps a word in the documentation about recommending a large littlelite, as we purchased the flightcase some time after the desk and thus were unaware we'd purhcased the "wrong one".

    F2

Any chance of having the F2 key transposed so that it works from the keyboard? This would be useful for renaming cues etc. Peter
  24. It shouldn't be too much of an issue, as an image-based script can be written into the operating system fairly easily. How much free memory is there on the desk though - as i'm sure you know, images take up a lot more memory than text. As for triggering the screen saver, could there also be a manual trigger (eg F1 and F4 or F1 and Lock?) - useful if Act1 finishes and you want to put the desk into "interval" mode.... And maybe a password (numeric, entered from the flashbuttons) to leave screensaver mode? But only if triggered manually, as you could easily miss a desk cue due to trying to unlock the desk. And user adjustable time delay before the screen saver initiates?
  25. Yes....perhaps lighting all (or none) of the direction modifier LEDs, or blinking, or something like that?
