Hi Edden,
I have managed to get SCS to trigger cues on the FLX (similar enough to your Solution console..!), however as Edward has stated above, you will require a USB to MIDI interface (and two MIDI cables)
For reference I use the "M-AUDIO MIDISPORT 2x2 Anniversary Edition" however I'm sure almost any MIDI interface should work with SCS and Solution.

Thanks for the advice Edward, I've had a look into assigning the MTC on cues - this looks promising. Is there a deafult way to record a cue with the Trigger set to MIDI?
My only thought I cant quite work out right now is if I cue all of track 1, and I have a few LX cues between track 1 and track 2, where is it best placed to have these cues? Would it still be on PB1, or onto the Master PB and cue with MSC? I understand MSC can only trigger the master PB?

Hi all,
Like all of us, I am trying to make the most of the time being stuck indoors, and adjusting to this new temporary way of life.
I have finally dived into linking FLX to Capture 2020 (all be it the free trial version) (KB Ref: http://support.zero88.com/988883201) and I have had good success in getting things working. Side note: you can download a version of the ‘Dockhouse’ venue for Capture 2020 from the Capture website which works flawlessly with the FLX showfiles.
I managed to create a blank Capture file and added in a few generic fixtures and got these controlled directly from Phantom ZerOS!
After considering this a win, I have also looked into using Show Cue System (SCS) to produce MIDI Show Control (MSC) cues (Side note: SCS Professional at a minimum required) and how this integrates and controls ZerOS (KB Ref: http://support.zero88.com/990063141).
Unfortunately my USB to MIDI device is currently stuck at the back of a storage unit so I am unable to physically test the link between SCS and FLX yet, but initial results from SCS also look positive.
The local junior drama group I support are performing Addams Family (postponed until December) and this will have musical backing tracks rather than a live band. As always in local am-dram, there is never enough technical crew, so it is likely I will be running both LX and sound.
To save myself juggling through both LX and sound cues I thought it is within the realms of possibility that I could pre-program the majority of the show and command the FLX completely via SCS. Using the backing tracks I can program MSC cues to trigger throughout the song on exactly the right beats all in SCS. For LX cues that are not within a musical number I am thinking I may either add additional MSC cues or have a local ‘GO’ button at the sound desk.
I think Addams Family is a great show and I want to try and get a fantastic looking show by not compromising on LX cues if I have to run both LX and sound.
Has anyone ever attempted anything similar in a musical setting, or any reasons why you wouldn’t recommend this at all – apart from it being a massive time sponge to pre-program!
Appreciate all thoughts,
Alex

I hadn't thought of laying the groups out like this before. Nice idea!

Hi Tom,
Afraid I can't help with your macro question directly however I might try the following approach.
Within the parameter of CH13, go to the 'Details' tab. In here create two positions. One to take you to your 'reset' position (values 200-209), and one back to 'default' (I assume 0). Once created these can be accessed by pressing the 'middle button' on the relevant encoder wheel. I have attached a screenshot for a similar set up for a prism, however you should be able to apply this to your situation.
I should also be able to help with load fixtures into Phantom.
2 hours ago, TomJosephSmith said:Second question and I really hope it doesn't sound stupid....... I've now saved this modified fixture as it's own file, so I have a .ift file with my new profile sitting on my desktop. I've fiddled for ages in Phantom ZerOS but I still can't figure out how on earth to import a custom fixture type that isn't part of the standard library to the S24. I feel like I'm missing an obvious button. When I tap 'Add Fixtures', it sends me directly to the list of manufacturers. If I tap 'Load' in the sidebar, it seems to only be looking for showfiles.
Simply copy the fixture file into your 'My Documents' folder (this is where Phantom ZerOS is looking for files - or at least on my PC!) and go to the 'Load' page in setup. You should then be able to select your new fixture file and press load.
Merry Christmas!

+1 to Simons request (in addition to auto palette for UV..!)
Hopefully another request bumps it up the 'to do' list slightly. Thanks,

Hi Afx,
I dont think this is exactly what you're looking for, but still useful!

Hi guys,
I'm trying to prepare my desk as much as possible before heading into the venue / or being front of the real desk.
Is there a method on Phantom ZerOS to get into Playback settings, usually I would hold 'Setup' and press the playback if I was in front of the physical desk, but I can't work out if this is possible on Phantom?
Also if trying to use any 'shifted' functions is also an issue. Pressing the shift key on my keyboard doesn't seem to interact with Phantom. Am I missing something obvious here? I have double checked to make sure Phantom is my 'active' window.
Cheers,
Alex

Printable Set up sheets i.e. with Fixtures, associated channels and DMX addresses .... thanks.
I second this, some sort of Excel/CSV output from the fixture schedule would be a great help

I feel misrepresented!
As Edward says, since 7.9.6, "1 universe" actually means 512 channels, spread across multiple universes. So it is now possible to have things patched to Universe 1 and Universe 2 - but only 256 channels on each (or 128 channels on Universe 1, 2, 3 and 4, etc)
Very interesting, is this the same for FLX?
-
Interesting to see the addition of 'Continuous' and 'Delta' DMX transmission; I haven't heard of this before. What is the benefit of switching to Delta transmission?
-
Great to hear that 7.9.6 and a new manual is 'very' close to release! I have been waiting for the new manual for ages!

Zero88,
Any update on a release date for the new FLX manuals?
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Could you confirm that you attempted to download the file whilst successfully logged in to your forum account? Downloads require login so maybe that's why? Log in to your account and try again and if it still doesn't work I will re-upload.
Thanks
Hi,
I have since been able to download it successfully (think it was on the bank holiday) and installed into the desk. Not sure if I was logged in at the time, but I assume I would have been..!

Hi all,
I have also just installed ZerOS 7.9.5 with the same issue.
I spoke to Keith who has directed me to this post. The file below is no longer "available", please can you re-upload it?

I also got an error during boot which may or may not be part of this common issue. Pictures attached for reference. Edward/Nathaniel, please can you forward these onto Keith for his info.
Cheers,
Alex

Zero88 interestingly makes a move to quietly announce the release of ZeroOS 7.9.5, the Betapack 4, a ZerOS 1U Sever, and a new data distribution device.
This was shared on their Facebook page by posting a link to an article written by LSi Online: https://www.lsionline.com/pl-s-zero-88-highlights-multifunctionality
It sounds like we will hear more in the coming days as Prolight and Sound 2019 progresses.
Watch this space as they say..!

Currently starting to look into a LED matrix project, would be great for some functionality on the FLX to control this. I can imagine using multi-touch colour picker would be fun with a large matrix of LEDs!

Hi Jon,
On ZerOS, will installing the new fixture library overwrite and remove fixtures files that are not part of the library?
Thanks, Alex

Hi Zero 88,
Having recently dabbled into creating a website, I have noticed neither the forum or the main Zero88 website has 'favicons'.
Not a major issue, but it would make my favorites bar look a lot nicer than two blank boxes

Almost one year since this information that multi-cells devices should be supported in a further release expected by Q1 or Q2 2018.
What are the latest update on this topic ?
Hi Fred,
This was recently asked in another sub forum:
Sounds like we still have a short wait yet!

A better solution may be to have up/ down arrows at the end of each parameter row, which you could use to reorder the parameters within their attribute.
Yes, this sounds perfect!
If only it was so simple to implement haha.

To move a parameter to the end of the attribute, change the parameter to a different attribute and then back again.
Hi Edward,
Since struggling to re-order parameters on a large fixture file before reading this hint, is there any chance that the 'parameters' column could be a user editable cell?
This would seems slightly more intuitive then the current method in my mind - and especially for new users to the software..!
Just a thought,

Hi Edward,
I too am in a similar situation to ZeuS - with duplicates of fixture files I have modified to suit my preference.
Has the feature to delete single fixture files been implemented yet, or can we expect it in ZerOS 7.9.5?
Many thanks,
Alex
Still with 7.9.7 that working good ! And what about 7.9.9. ? Bugs or working good ?
