  1. Hi, I think your're asking on how to store scenes and play them back? On the bullfrog, this would be done by using the memories. The memories output is controlled by the Playback X fader. Firstly, press the memories button to go to the memories screen (this is much easier with an external monitor attached, mind). Now you can program in your cues. Use the + and - buttons to select a desired memory (cue) and then raise your relevent faders to output the scene that you want. Now, press the red program button (not the enter button, as people often do) and the scene will be stored to that memory. You can now continue this process, programming each memory in the stack. To run the show, raise the playback x master to 100% and use the Go button to go through each scene in numerical order. You can also use the + and - buttons to choose which memory is output next. Use the Override control (not crossfade) to adjust the speed at whcih the memories advance. Just another note, if you press F2, then memories, then enter - you can type in a name for the memory, either using the + and- keys or an external keyboard. Hope this is what you were after, note that the manual contains clear instructions for the process also: Section 4-7 for setting up, 4-14 for running. sp
  2. im interested by this test mode, never knew it existed. Had a search around and it took a long time to find it, so I just thought id put the link here for anyone else: Click here sp
  3. Sorry I didn't know there had been anything wrong with the chases :? Perhaps that quote was a bit misleading - I was just wondering if a pedal could be made so you run a chase 'manually' using your foot. At our school it is quite difficult to use the audio input as it was meant to be, as the lighting control box is quite a way from the sound desk. So a pedal would be useful addon. Anyone electronically minded have any suggestions on a circuit? sp
  4. I found this in a post, sounds a nice idea. I know the beat and manual functions use the step button, but a foot pedal would be nice to step a chase whilst keeping hands free. Does anyone know how one could be made? It would need power to produce the pulse?? sp

    JOKE PAGE!!!

wot's the last thing to enter a fly's brain as it hits a car windscreen? ... its duck. sp
  6. hi as far as i know all u need is a standard output from your sound desk. We've used normal speaker outputs before, and also the auxiliary outputs. There have been a few other posts on exactly the same topic I've seen, such as this. Just plug in a 1/4in feed from ur sound desk and set ur chase to the bass or vari drive. sp
  7. Hi, just a little suggestion... On other desks I use is a latch feature for the submaster flash buttons, which I find quite useful. Could this be implemented easily in a future update? So when you cycle through the flash button options it could be: 1. Flash buttons off (No LED) 2. Flash (Flash LED on) 3. Solo (Solo LED on) 4. Flash latch (Flash LED blinking) 5. Solo latch (Solo LED blinking) cheers, sp
  8. Sorry I'm not really qualified to give any lighting tips and you haven't said when the concert is, but it would be nice to see a pic sometime of what you achieve... sp
  9. hi im no expert on the desks dont get me wrong , but as far as I know you can't name submaster pages. It's a shame because this latest software has 20 pages and its hard to keep on top of them! The lock code I think just prevents you from changing anything - editing memories and subs etc. but I think that it still lets you actually affect the outputs i.e I think that you can still actually use the subs and channel faders. As for changing what the lock 'locks' I havent heard of a way but again - good suggestion! I personally feel that it would be nice if you could completely lock all use of the desk - people may not know how to edit a memory but they'd soon fiddle with the sliders! Lock code: The user can choose their own lock code. The code is entered with the submaster flash keys. The default may be 1234 or 0000 (use sub 10 as a 0) but if you don't know it then I think you can contact zero 88 - apparently there is a certain special code for each desk to unlock it. sp

    Pausing Chases

Now that is a solution that I like! Fantastic - exactly what I need. So if you programmed that sub with channels at say 50% then even pressing the flash button would only raise the relevent lights to that amount wouldn't it? Thanks very much for that , a brilliant solution. sp

    Format disk

Can a floppy be formatted with the phantom frog? I've seen posts that suggest that the desks use a different method of formatting, so I thought perhaps it should be done from the phantom. If I try and format a disk from the phantom frog, it gives an error. The disk is ok though, as shows are saved on it fine. sp

    Pausing Chases

Yes that is another way of doing it, thanx 4 that. I suppose it goes back to my suggestion before that it would be useful to have a master for the submasters, so to speak. Then you could have a 'pause' ready as a scene memory, and just drop the submasters' master and raise the plaxback x. sp
  13. Hi, yet another question from me on chases. You're lighting a band etc. with chases, flashes etc. but then you get to that dramatic pause halfway. How do you do it? How can you get all the chases to pause? Is there a way? My only solution currently is to have all the lights as a scene on another sub, and then to just raise it slightly above the chases (HTP). But what if you want some lights to black out at the pause? This is using just generics by the way, as per usual sp
  14. Thanks for that, once again. This information should be in the manual though? sp
  15. so when was the frog series released? Did all the desks come out at the same time? sp
  16. Genius! Thanks very much for that, that'll be really useful. I don't know why but I always associated that button with moving fixtures! I can see now what you mean when you describe chases as 'hard on soft off' etc. Perhaps this mistanding was due to the attack modifer not being described properly in the manual?? thanks though for that, sp
  17. Moderation: Split into separate topic on Chase Modifiers. Ah ok yes I can see your reason for chases. One question I have about creeating 'slow' chases. How do you do them?! I know you can make the actual steps increment very slowly - speed control etc. but don't the lights just switch straight to the next step without any gentle fade? I would love to be able to do effects such as you describe, gradual chages in colour over the stage etc. This is only using genrics by the way, as that is all we have at school . So is it possible? sp
  18. yes i was thinking the same thing if you don't mind me asking (im just be nosy really ) what sort of chases were you using at a conference? sp
  19. As far as I'm aware you can't directly create chases on submasters. It is quite simple though to create the chase as a memory and then transfer with time to a submaster. Create the chase as a memory, then press the transfer with time button. Then use the page up and down buttons and the submaster flash buttons to select a sub then press enter. As far as I know that's the only way to put chases onto submasters, though I do agree with you that it would be quite nice to be able to program them straight on. sp
  20. On the Zero88 site is a screensaver of products, but it doesn't feature any of the frog series! sp
  21. In our lighting control room at school we've got a PC used for planning and designing shows etc. but when using the bullfrog on the phantom frog, it doesn't fit on screen. I've seen a couple of other posts on this matter, so what are we to do? sp

    Printing...

if u want 2 c all of the bullfrog on phantom then maybe u need 2 invest in a dual-head graphics card (obviously not on a laptop...) Our pc has dual head - means u can have 2 monitors - ur cursor goes from one to the other so the bullfrog screen stretches over both. It a really good investment - soooo useful as u can have stuff open on each screen. We'd never go back 2 just one monitor that 4 sure. sp
  23. Ok, im not quite sure if my question has been answered or not Say for example, I have a setup as follows: Sub 1: Compare Sub 2: Compare Backlight Sub 3: Parcan Chase Sub 4: Colour wash Sub 5: Source 4s on stage So if say I had 3,4,5 up for the rock group, could i put 1 and 2 up BEFORE the group had finished but where they didn't actually show? You know like you can switch the A and B master faders for this kind of thing on the presets? My reason for wanting to do this is that if I need to put a lot of subs down after an act and get some subs up for the compare - all so its nice and smooth (lots down simultaneously etc.) how could I do it? sp
  24. Hi, I was wondering is there any way to set up a certain scene on the submasters (not on the presets themselves) whilst another is being output? Like you can use the 'A stored, B faders...' kind of thing, but using the subs? For example I may have chases (on subs) running for a rock group, but then get the setup ready for the compare (again on sub), before the group has finished. Is it possible? sp
  25. Wow thanx 4 the fast reply K-nine! Ok, so now i understand the science and theory a bit better, do u think using the three primary gels at different brightnesses would actually be able to produce different colours (perhaps using some 743s)? sp
