lol Are you sure a question like this couldn't be posted on say the Blue Room, as opposed to a product support forum such as this?
There is, for example, a Training and Qualification forum in the Blue Room which provides an interesting read for those interested in entering the industry.

All I can suggest is having a separate page of subs with your programmed flashes on, so just flick over to this page and do your flashing. Certainly not ideal though

By offline editing I presume you mean programming the desk at home on a pc, and then transferring the show to your actual desk? In this case, you want the Phantom Frog. This is the Frog Series Offline Editor, and is available here. It is basically your desk onscreen. Save to floppy disk, and load on your desk.

If you're using the Frog console, then you're correct, there is no LTP support. Just patch your scrollers on the last few channels of the Preset Faders. Remember by pressing Insert whilst manual patching you can put multiple scrollers on one fader, if they will always be used together.
It's probably easiest to use the playback X for this, as if you put scrollers HTP on submasters you could get easily confused.
I would just program a memory (say 20) with the scroller channels you want to go to their correct value. Set a reasonable fade time otherwise your scrollers may not appreciate instantly moving to another colour along the scroll
Then set the Dwell time for this memory to be the same as the fade up time.You could then press Insert and put in a decimal point memory (say 20.5). This would contain both the scroller values and of course your lanterns. Then set the Trigger to Auto and any fade times you want for the lanterns.
Now when you press go after memory 19, it will move your scrollers, then bring up your lanterns when they've moved. I think

P.S Remember that the Fade Up time will apply to scrollers that are increasing in value, and Fade Down time to scrollers that are decreasing in value - probably easiest to just set the same fade up and down time when moving the scrollers.

So this is a very smiliar idea to connecting a lighting desk to WYSIWYG lighting visualisation software on a PC via a DMX dongle?

Yeah, sounds exactly like you've got the desk in Full mode instead of Partial. Have a look through the manual and there's literally loads of topics on this exact same matter on the forum

Perhaps not exactly what you want, but note that as any submaster is pushed past 0% it turns green across the submasters bar at the bottom of the monitor. When it is returned to 0 the green goes out.
Another alternative is to make sure the flash function is Off and then just run your fingers along the flash buttons until you get to what you want. Then just knock up the sub above your finger. That would save a little bit of time.

I'm pretty sure with the Frog 2 all sorts of combinations are possible with the faders. For these desks though I still think it might be worth an option in Super User sacrificing the last submaster fader on the desk to be used as a Submaster Master. In fact, I would love that

The only thing I can think of is if the F3 button was pressed on either the desk or the external keyboard. This could put the desk into 'Live individual Chase adjustment mode' whereby you can select individual chases and adjust their parameters live. If you pressed F3 and were to then press the Submaster or Memories button, as you describe, I think they would flash, as would the submaster flash buttons.
So basically, all I can think of is that F3 was pressed

This sounds quite weird. If you go into the DMX outputs screen (Outputs screen then press +) you can see exactly what DMX information is being output. Have a look and see if it is as it should be. I.e. set each desk up the same and see if the same DMX information is being output. If it's different then there could be a fault with the desk.

While this would be a nice feature to have occassionally, I think we need to remember that things like this can easily make the user interface too complicated, and that's not what the frogs are about. So much has been added since the first software release that the front panel is pretty crowded as it is now, so I'd say it's better to leave it as it is. Just plan carefully where you put your subs

I seem to remember suggesting something along these lines before, to be met with, 'the submaster overlay as it is currently seems to be fine for most users.' It may have been given a Frog Reference number, I can't remember just now. You may well find Brian once you put the SX buttons to good use on your mambo that you're ok.

btw, is it possible to make the submasters "flash" button to hold instead of flash?
No it isn't unfortunately.
I was hoping to be able to select the colour for the generics via the submasters and control the movingheads via the pallets but when i change submaster (or memory) the movingheads goes to their home position (or to the position they where when i was programming the generics). Is there any way to exclude the movingheads from the memory/submaster?Yes, you need to put the desk into Partial Mode, as opposed to Full Mode. This can be done by going into super user (hold + and -, press enter), selecting Desk Setup, and selecting Program Mode.
In Partial Mode, HTP (generic) values are always recorded, but only the LTP parameters you 'tag' are recorded. Hence, by untagging colour, beamshape etc. and pressing program, only generic data will be recorded onto your subs.

Thanks for that Paul. The desk is in a relatively new small concert hall, but is used very rarely. I noticed when rigging yesterday that a lantern controlled on fader 3 Preset A, was controlled by fader 1 on Preset B. I'm pretty certain this is a fault with the desk?, but as I say, its not used very often at all (well its never been used to date I don't think), so it's probably not worth getting fixed.
My other question was what the 'racks' LED was for on the desk, but as this is a DMX only version, the manual now confirms that this light is redundant on this desk.

I've just come across a Zero88 Level18 Plus. As it's not on the website I presume it is not produced anymore, but is there any manual or data sheet in existence for it? I have a couple of queries about it.

Welcome, and wow, hitting home instead of the record button is quite a feat
No there's no 'undo' function on the desk - I think this would be quite hard to implment as every user action would have to be recorded etc. Surely you'd see the fixtures go to home as you pressed it, it's normally quite easy to notice? Oh dear. Incidentally, if you don't like what your fixtures do when you home them, this can be changed with the Fixture Type Editor software.sp

I absolutely appreciate that you have added this feature to the Frog2, and all the associated posts with regards to only developing these Frogs so far, but could the feature I've suggested not be implemented very easily? It would be identical in operation to colour, beamshape and position palettes.
I still see, and have been in, situations where a large memory stack has been built, and then a change is made that affects 30 or so memories. Surely brightness palettes would be so much better than wasting hours changing many many memories?
