Well if it was for the Frog2 I suppose it could be USB.

pressing the Esc. key takes you to Memory with Mem. 0 Highlighted not Gone!!
I personally don't think going to memory 0 is really a good idea, I don't see the need. When editing something etc. I often instinctively press the Escape key to get out of whatever I'm doing, and wouldn't appreciate it if a blackout was cued up without me realising. Exiting a menu etc. I do think is more appropriate.

I would say have Esc which takes you back to the very first column, in memory/submaster screen etc. Tab takes you to the next column, Shift-Tab takes you back a column, just like on a computer.
The extra function keys could also be mapped to specific fields - fade times etc.
Insert key, I agree. Is 'Clear' mapped? If not perhaps something like Delete the key?
The other function keys could simulate the 'Memories' 'Submasters' buttons in all screens. I.e. used for naming, or just changing screens quickly.

Seems similar to an ETC Smartfade, except better.

As Haytech has mentioned, I would sacrifice individual control of every lantern and put a few onto each of the desk's faders, so you can keep everything on one desk. When patching, press Insert and you can assign up to 10 DMX channels to 1 desk channel.

Welcome
Firstly make sure you have the latest version of the Phantom Frog software (as well as the latest software on your desk ).
If you right-click the plus and minus buttons on the phantom, click enter, then right-click the plus and minus buttons again, you reach super user.
Then if you go into desk set-up, Assign Fixtures is the second-one down. Well it is on my phantom anyway

With the new OS update it's possible to name things via the F2 key on the keyboard. The only problem with that; you still need to press Memories / Submaster etc. on the console; that's annoying. Could memories be mapped to M, submasters to S, Beamshape to B, colour C and position P? That way we can name everything with the keyboard, a lot faster!
Yeah I certainly agree - slightly defeats the point of the function keys being mapped to the keyboard currently. If it could get confusing with letter keys also being used to select subs, memories etc. maybe some other function keys could be used, as they are currently unmapped.

Perhaps the feed into the desk is too high? Just a thought.

What equipment are you using in the chase?
I have noticed very minor delays in the past, but nothing too much.

might miss a cue, or the desk might swap outputs and go to that blackout for a little second it does when editing.
That's why I'm afraid of using it.

Yep, knew I had:
while I'm on the subject, why is it that when a submaster is reprogrammed, it remembers its name (which is great ) but resets its fade times? The number of subs I've knocked straight up to 100% thinking a fade time was set, when it had actually been reset to 0 - very annoying, and quite baffling since the names are remembered.sp
The issue didn't seem to get resolved, and it'd be great if it could be in the next update.

Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but one thing that I find quite annoying is when a submaster is reprogrammed, it retains its name, but forgets any fade times set.
Thinking about it I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but can't seem to find the post/topic. Did it get a Frog reference number? If not, could it have one?
Cheers,

I'll try the unplug thing tomorrow.
What about this Paul, you're in the memories screen, using the Enter key to go through the cues, then you move the cursor into the fade time fields. Then you move back again to the number field, does the Enter key still work?
It seems I have to fiddle with the scroll lock before it does again.

Ah it's not just me then
Yeah rebooting solved it for me, but then I do something and it goes weird again.

If it's a radio keyboard it should work further, mine works nearly 30m.

I know we'd been doing a lot of manual patching, but I don't see why that would affect the keyboard functionality.
sp

Yeah I found it worked really well, until for some obscure reason I started getting problems with the software, mentioned here.
Even easier than using the remote switches on the keyboard, you can now just leave the desk on the memories screen, type in a number and press return twice to go to it.

So basically you'd need a command line interface added? I'd guess it would mean big alteration of the software though.
sp

Though I spose he won't be able to format it on the desk now?

As I mentioned somewhere else, now the remote switches can be triggered from a keyboard, you could buy a cheap wireless one and use that.

If the Frog shows DMX values being output on screen, then I would say it is a hardware problem - the Fatfrog has 2 identical dmx outputs, are both dead?
sp

A feature i thing would be useful would be a button (perhaps one of the F buttons?) that would put all fader outputs to about 80%.
If you really wanted everything on at 80%, could you not just have a submaster with this on a page never used for anything else (e.g. page 20).
If you had Chilli dimmers they can have an emergency set that allows you to bring channels up automatically if the alarm goes off.Is this standard Chilli dimmers? If so, how can this be achieved?

Note that when I first updated everything seemed fine, but something must have changed today :? I am unable to replicate this on the Phantom Frog, but a few technicans tried the desk today, and had these problems, so its not just me
We'd tried rebooting it as well.

I don't know much about the desk but is there not the same restriction as with the current frog's submaster overlay? I.e. you can't put a fader up on one page if the respective one on another is already up?
