  1. I’ve got it to transmit RDM I think, but the led is alternating between yellow (dmx) and green (RDM and dmx) so not sure if it’s 100%ok.

  2. Hi, we have a Transcension N4 artnet-dmx. The manual says that it should allow RDM transmission but I can't seem to get it to do so. Anyone else have one of these beasts?

    You’re pretty experienced so I guess you’ve tried Setup+Button ?

Yep, just takes me into the fixture set up page unless I’m pressing them in the wrong order. Might have been holding button and pressing setup. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. evening all,

should I be able to select a single fixture within a cue, adjust its colour and then save that as a pallette and then apply that pallette to all same type of light?

  5. Is it possible to replace the MCB’s on the betspack 4 with rcbo so I can feed the rack with an mcb and any fault will trip just the faulty circuit rather than the entire rack?

being an outdoor venue gives us a little problem with rain!!

    thanks

  6. I should know this and can’t find in the manual either but can someone please remind me of how to delay either the up or down part of a cue please?

    thanks.

    Hi Simon,

That is correct - by "start a new show file", make sure you perform a Reset Desk.

    Edward

    Brilliant thank you.

  8. Thanks both.

So if I do the following:

use RDM to patch all my fixtures

    disconnect from console

    start a new show file

reconnect to console and allow to discover all fixtures as set

store this as my base file

after visiting company has left reattach my console with base file loaded and press revert rig.

Will this re-patch my fixtures to how they were?

    Hi Simon,

ZerOS will apply your rig configuration to your show file. It will not apply your show file configuration to your rig.

Therefore, if you load in a show file, ZerOS will look at the RDM IDs of the fixtures in the show file, to see whether they match fixtures that are currently connected.

If there is a match, ZerOS will change the modes and addresses in the show file, to match the fixtures in the rig. In this situation it will not automatically change the addresses and modes of your fixtures.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Edward

ok thanks for that Edward. Disappointing as it means if a visiting company comes in and changes the mode and address of each fixture I will have to remap everything to get it up and running again.

It would be useful to have a similar function to a lot of audio kit in that you can select "update from or to a device"

  10. Morning all,

Just configuring our rig to use RDM and I was just checking that when a show is saved it keeps a record of the RDM ref in relation to the fixture settings? So if I recall a show the fixtures will all be set up correctly?

  11. Hi all,

could someone give me an idiots guide to using the betapack 4 please? Assuming its still just 6 dmx channels but do you have to change to dimming law if using the hot power and then change back if using the dimmer?

    Thanks

  12. Ok great. TBH it doesn't really affect me as I just want to use the capture software to plot in the daytime! It works well for me that way. I originally thought that once the flx took control the capture control stopped working, it wasn't until I saw the tutorial that I thought there might be an issue and it might help others if I raised it.

Please could you elaborate a little on what fixture info you mean? Do you mean you are finding parameters are not matching in Capture and ZerOS? With the fixture controls open in Capture (pressing the power icon for the selected fixtures), view the Zoom control on Capture, and dial the Zoom encoder on the console. Does it adjust correctly?

No, the controls in capture are not correct and don't control the lights properly.

  14. Hi Edward, I'm running the latest phantom download for these tests. I had the same experience on the flx yesterday at work.

I've rechecked the patch and all seems ok, so not sure what I was looking at before.

All the controls from the flx work as they should and the outputs look correct, it's the controls within capture that don't correspond or change regardless of light position.

If I try to use the focus position in capture as you showed us the lights just point in random directions

This was the result of a single mouse click with the focus tool. You can also see that according to capture the light should be blue even though flx is outputting white.

It all returns to normal once phantom/flx is disconnected.
