Was also trying to do this recently. I selected all the pixels in 1 fixture, so 1.1 thru 1.8 and created the effect I wanted and saved it as a pallete. I could not how ever apply this pallete to any of the othe fixtures, I had to create the effect on each fixture individually. Helped by recording a load of groups during pre programming, so each fixtures pixels as a group, all pixels in the first 4 fixtures as a group and so on...... Then I could just select the group, tap effects, tap chase, adjust a few things and record. More time consuming as i had 24 fixtures each with 8 pixels but the only way I could get it to work.

How do I control the initial colour of playbacks?
delicolor replied to Phil Mckerracher's topic in General Discussion
Note that setting default and home values in ZEROS (certainly on FLX) gets munged by "smart" settings which should be turned off when recording them. That has caught me out a couple of times. -

Save the show as .CSV. open this in a spreadsheet. The top row is a map of all fixtures and their parameter channels. You may have to put at least one cue on the master PB and it may need to include a cue that references every fixture. I can't remember. I also can't remember if channel numbers or addresses are included. I've only used it to check cues and parameter values.

Hi, We're a highschool running a S24. How do I extract the channel->DMX data into a human readable form? Effectively I want a patch list, so that if we move & re-address a fitting for some reason, we have a reference to put it back The only way I can see i to get the show information from Setup > Save > Advanced > ZerOS | Save Complete show. This generates a zip file, from which I could possibly reverse engineer from the XML files, but this seems are real hack, and a lot of effort for something that should really exist?

@kgallen I don't have much experience with multi pixel fixtures but would this work? Select each pixel that should.come on together and record a group. Repeat until all the required pixels are in a group. Select the groups not the pixels. Run the effect by groups rather individually. Failing that... If the effect can work on a single fixture then giving them the same address will make them behave the same but rule out treating them individually. Heaven knows what it would do to RDM though. You can patch multiple fixtures, on different addresses to the same channel. Again that stops you treating them separately in this show but they can still be patched separately in another show Or build an actual chase recording each step separately.

Simplest solution is to have all of the fixtures as one dmx address. Assuming that isn't an option or not ideal, it does seem to be a tricky one that I don't believe the video kgallen has pointed to actually addresses. It covers doing what you're already able to do - I watched it not that long ago as I was interested to do what you want to do and ended up just putting them on one dmx address for speed, but have been meaning to experiment since. I suspect you may be able to save the parameters of the effect to a palette, then apply it to individual fixtures in turn, until all of them are doing the same. I'm not convinced it won't just start rolling into doing what you already have though as soon as you add each fixture. Last option is manually creating your own playbacks with as many cues as required to make the effect. As far as I can see though, when you select pixels across multiple lights, the desk just treats them as a big line of lights and doesn't seem to have any understanding of grouping them into fixtures.

Thanks Kgallen, I reproduced it in the channels mode I needed in no time with Fixture Editor 😉

Hmmm not sure I know of a way. Want to upload the zfix here so we can have a play?

is it possible to transform a .zfix fixture file from my s48 into an .ift file to be read by my beloved Frog2 without rebuilding it with the Fixure Editor. Thank you P.

There is a Search panel to search manufacturers and another for models. Maybe an external USB keyboard would help? If you have a recent ZerOS, your most recent patch fixtures should be at the top of a list as "favourites". https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/patching/add-fixtures/searching-filtering

Bonjour, comment retrouver mes marques de projecteurs ( caméo, robert juliat, Stairway) sans passer par la bibliothèque ? À chaque fois que patch , il faut que je les récupère dans la bibliothèque ce qui n'est pas très facile Merci

Mr Ed started following Failure saving default attributes of LED fixtures on the FLX
-
Hi there, we have a problem with the default attributes of our LED Fixtures. Till version 7.___ it was without problems possible to record the defaults atttributes for each fixture with "record" "home" "defaults". Now with version 8 thsi works as well but it happens the following: after each restart even if the values of all attributes are recorded correctly and double checked before switching of the concole, the default attributes are erased and it happens there are random attributes recorded e.g. white 82, red 0, green 18 and blue 2. Can anybody help? One more thought: Perhaps it's only coincidence and has nothing to do with the new version of the ZeroOS and the internal memory of our Console is damaged!? Best, Bernhard

I have some pixel batten fixtures. When I run a chase effect across a fixture it chases across those pixels. When I run the effect across multiple fixtures, it will chase across them all in order. I’d like for all the battens to pixel chase at the same time as a group. I thought it could be something to do with the offset of the effect, however when I select ‘offset as group’ it ignores the pixels and treats each batten as a single light source. I’ve attached a video of how it works currently and an edited video of how I want it to be able to work. How it works now: https://youtu.be/gVSUg7lTL2w How I want it to work: https://youtu.be/qIHcmw-siQs Is there something I’m missing? Thanks!

@Nin First off, try test mode - see manual here. If your faders are playing up then maybe servisol will sort it otherwise contact support.
-
My Flx 48 seems to be playing up. When I slide a fader up the lights rise and then black out. Also on the same fader if I press the flash button, the lights flash as normal but every so often the level stays at say 100% but the lights are off. thanks Nin

ZerOS Android 13 App not available on Play Store
Archie D replied to discover's topic in FLX S24 & FLX S48
Hi @dtyotam I'm pretty sure that the Google Play Store deleted/closed the account that the remote apps were under, after they transferred over to Vari-Lite and Zero 88 was no longer under Cooper. This therefore rendered the apps un-downloadable. I'm not sure if there is another possible solution to download them, maybe an APK file? I just thought I should share this information. -
How do I control the initial colour of playbacks?

Ooh, this looks very promising. If it works (on our board) this might be just what I'm looking for. I'll let you know. All your help is very much appreciated, in any case, many thanks. -
How do I control the initial colour of playbacks?
Davidmk replied to Phil Mckerracher's topic in General Discussion
@Phil Mckerracher @kgallen So, after testing this on both v7.14 and v8 I have shown that... You don't seem to be able to alter defaults on a Solution showfile - even when it is loaded on an FLX running the FLX-only v8 and been saved on that and reloaded. This seems so wrong that I fear it may be me and the way I am doing it. If it isn't then it probably warrants a call to support. You can achieve default colour black by making amended copies of fixture personalities. Fixtures with a default of white behave exactly as I would expect (i.e. the reverse of what you and I would like). They start with white and, as the playback is raised, they fade out the colours that are not needed. Fixtures with a default of black, on the other hand do what I expected and would like and also what I suspect you need. These start at black and fade up the colours needed. Where another playback is already up the (default white) fixtures, the behaviour of the both black- and white-default fixtures is to raise the "missing" colours and the lower the "unwanted" ones effectively replacing the original PB's colour with the new one. T would seem to be the required behaviour but contrasts with faders set up for colour mixing. If you want to mix playbacks then you should refer to the instructions for this in the manual. My recommendation for you achieve the look you require is to set a default of black fr LEDs in your showfile. While this does not seem to be possible through changing the fixture defaults you can do it by creating modified fixture personality files and replacing the library ones in the patch. However there is another way - one which use all the time. On an FLX I use a multi-function key (latched and with release disabled). I save all the default values I need for a show onto this. Not just default colour black but things like stair edge lights at 50% and default positions for moving heads. I engage this when I start the desk up and record the "default" values I need for that day's show on to it. These values would, of course, be restored whenever that show file is loaded. As you do not have MFKs you could use instead. You might find it helpful to disable raise-on-lower on this PB. Be careful about recording HTP levels on this as they will become the minimum level for those fixtures and you will not be able to go below it. For our stair lights this is, of course, exactly the behaviour I require. Hopefully, this, and the various bits I have sent you by DM wi help you to achieve the reults you require. Have fn! -
How do I control the initial colour of playbacks?
Phil Mckerracher replied to Phil Mckerracher's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, quite a mess. It shouldn't be this hard to turn a light on and off. I realise there are a LOT of variables involved and some interactions are unavoidable but I wish I could turn off the clever stuff and just get the basics working first. Reproducing it in simulation is definitely a step forward, though. -
How do I control the initial colour of playbacks?
Davidmk replied to Phil Mckerracher's topic in General Discussion
@Phil Mckerracher I loaded v7.14.4 on my spare desk and added your show file So, like you, I couldn't seem to set the default to be black instead of white. I also had some trouble with the fixtures on 13ch mode. I tried making a custom personality file with zero as the default for all the colours and they all defaulted to zero but red was stuck on 255. For my next attempt, I started with an empty show file and a new, 12ch personality and then added one fixture using the custom personality and another using the library one. This gave me problems and I was able to set up some playbacks that are similar to yours. I did some tests while recording the screen output. Unfortunately the resulting mp4 file is too big to attach here but results were as follows... The custom personality starts from black and the colours fade up with the fader. The standard personality starts from white and fades out the unwanted colours leaving the The fun starts if another PB is up. Taking yellow up and add blue as an example with just yellow, red and green are full and blue is out on both channels but, when blue is raised, the channel one goes to red, green AND blue full but the standard personality fades out red and green while doing nothing with blue - it's not until the yellow is faded out that blue goes to full. EDIT: Messaged you with a link to some files. -
