  1. Hi Fensch

    I'm in exactly the same situation with my Benq Touch screen - it only appears as a USB device.

    The info you've supplied will (hopefully) give Jon and the software team what they need to check/add the associated driver to include into a software release - maybe a beta?

    Jon: Any ideas on timescales to add the drivers for this and my (ZOS-5441) touchscreens?

    Regards

  2. Hi all.

    I've just had a play with some LED battens that have eight channels of R, G and also B. I also wanted to mix colours via Submasters on the fly and have found, after a change to the desk setup, I can... :)

    The above is pretty much there but I think one step is missing...

    Select Setup then Desk Setup and then Behaviour. My desk was set to Keep Colour Parameters Separate = "No". I've changed this to "Yes".

    For R, G and B I've then...

    Selected Fixtures

    Select Colour (RG and B will all probably be highlighted)

    Select Clear and Colour together

    Set Colour (and include brightness if needed) - only changed colour settings will now be highlighted

    Select Update and Ok the update of the Submaster

    In Submaster view;

    Check the Submaster is set for "Colour" in Submaster Control

    Check Flash Button Action is "Flash" if you want to manually flash the Submaster.

    Also set Fade Up and Fade Down to "0".

    I can now bring each colour to any intensity via Submasters.

    Hope this helps :)

  3. Fensch,

    To help things along;

    If you open the System Information window (listed under 'Other Windows' in the Output Window) the touch screen should be listed as a USB device. If you can copy the UID/PID and any other info seen from there, it may help track down what driver/kernel version is needed to support the Touch Screen.

    Could you also go to SETUP> Desk Setup > Peripherals. There's a button called "Input Capture".

    If you go into this screen, select the touchscreen from the drop down list, and then move your finger around the screen, and capture all the data that the monitor is sending through the USB port. This will help determine why your monitor isn't working. Ideally, move your finger right to the edges, and into the corners, to capture as much information as possible.

  4. Hi Webbo

    So to clarify;

    There's no movement/colour/brightness seen when the either type of unit is connected and patched to the Solution? Do you have fixture personalities for both units?

    Can you confirm DMX channels and their use as I can't seem to find an online manual for the ST0701.

    How many DMX channels are you set for on the HeadBanger 10 - 7 or 12?

    With a 7 DMX channel setting on the HeadBanger, channel 3 uses 0-200 as Dimmer and 201-255 as Strobe so some greater knowledge for this personality may be needed...

  5. Hi Jon

    Initially I saw an entry for my console when the password was set which disappeared when I enabled the password on the console. I restarted the remote PC software and then saw the console with the indication of a password. When I clicked to connect I was presented with the option to enter the console password and, hey-presto, I was logged on to the console Ok.

    Many thanks for you help.

    Regards

  6. Thank you for the link - I'll print a copy of the manual for some light reading over the weekend.

    It's not a major problem as I can remove the desk password and connect with the PC monitor software, but is there somewhere on the PC software that I'm supposed to enter the password if one is set on the desk?

  7. Hi Franck

    I have the latest stable release on the desk and have successfully used the ipad app as a remote.

    I was looking to use the PC remote monitor software as a second monitor for the desk.

    My first attempt to connect from the software to the desk raised the question about the PC software and the desk password as I can connect Ok when I remove the password from the desk setup but can't connect when a password is set on the desk as I can't see how to set a password on the PC monitor software.

    My second question was slightly more general, once I display a second monitor on the either the ipad app or monitor software, I can't seem to show anything on it - colour palette, memory, submasters, etc, so wondered what I am doing wrong.

  8. Hi there.

    I see in the Solution datasheet that "Upto 4 additional monitors available via Ethernet remote". Can you point me to a document that shows how to get the monitor software running as a second/additional monitor on the Solution desk as I only seem to be able to replicate the main monitor with the software.

    Also, how do you set the password for the desk in the monitor software?

    I see;

    22:27:40 - Status changed to Connecting - ()
    22:27:40 - Connecting to 192.168.2.76, 8811
    22:27:40 - Connect...
    22:27:40 - Connecting.
    22:27:40 - CRemoteDisplay::OnConnect(0)
    22:27:40 - NETWORKREMOTE_CONNECTDISPLAYRESPONSE_CODE_PASSWORDINVALID
    22:27:40 - Status changed to Password Invalid - ()

    Many thanks

  9. Hi Jon,

    I haven't seen the desk freeze with the beta build but then I haven't left 7.6.22 loaded on the desk longer than I was testing it. I tried to video the start-up today and the desk booted Ok. I can't see it's related but from what I've seen, other staff are switching the desk off at the mains plug and not on the back of the desk - our previous desk was a bullfrog that didn't have a console power switch.

    I'll try to pop back to the theatre and play again when I finish here at work.

    Regards

    Mike

  10. I've seen that on a number of occasions that our Solution XL desk appears to freeze showing this initial display screen on boot-up. Once powered cycled, the desk boots Ok.

    This was seen with the desk when delivered at 7.6.0. I have upgraded to the beta build and dropped back to 7.6.0 and am still seeing the behaviour.

    Yesterday I believe that the desk was switched on by a church group who currently use the venue with a scene stored on a sub, but when I arrived there after they had left, the desk was in this frozen state.

    Just wondering if this has been seen in testing and if there are any logs I can retrieve?

    Regards

    Mike

  11. Hi Jon

    I believe I am already down as a beta tester and have access to your Beta Test forum.

    I will be in the theatre from Sunday 30th June to Saturday 6th July for a show where I'll use the current stable build but am happy to use any spare time to take a look at the beta build.

    Regards

  12. Hi Jon,

    I took a chance and bought a 17" BenQ G702AD Touchscreen. I downloaded the windows drivers to check the screen out last night and it worked Ok on my laptop. I took the screeen to the theatre this morning and plugged it into my Solution XL and found that it doesn't look like the drivers are in the current build.

    The link I have for the drivers is;

    http://home.eeti.com.tw/DriverDownload.htm

    Any idea if the drivers are already listed for a release? Just in case the screen hasn't already been identified, I've requested it in http://zero88.com/forum/topic/6494-new-external-touch-screens/

    Regards

    Mike
