kgallen Posted Sunday at 09:52 AM Report Posted Sunday at 09:52 AM This is almost always a battery issue or accidental movement of DIP switches on the PCB when swapping the battery (others feel free to correct me!). I would swap the coin cell for a guaranteed new one then boot the desk a couple of times since the software will need to rebuild some internal tables since the battery went flat. Trying to reinstall the OS will probably take you down a blind alley. Also I recommend looking through through the Forum for other comments on this issue as this a common query. Does your Leap Frog run FrogOS (10.12 latest) or ZerOS? There are two styles of Leap Frog with very similar names which is confusing. Quote
kgallen Posted Sunday at 09:53 AM Report Posted Sunday at 09:53 AM I think you posted here, so looks like you have an "original" Leap Frog. Note you won't be able to contact Keith or Ian now (for very different reasons). Quote
Archie D Posted Sunday at 08:38 PM Report Posted Sunday at 08:38 PM I agree with kgallen, this is most likely a battery issue. The battery is what holds the date and time along with the showfile data, so once the desk loses power it loses those if no battery is present. The time then resets and counts up from zero when powered on each time. Are you getting a message on the external monitor saying 'Warning : CMOS Battery failure detected.'? Following kgallen's advice - without attempting to reinstall the Frog Software, try powering on with a fresh battery and let the desk load into the memories screen, then cut power and turn on again. You should find that if the battery has been installed correctly, the second restart shouldn't show the 'Desk ID <number> is invalid.' message. 9 hours ago, kgallen said: accidental movement of DIP switches As far as I know with the dipswitches on the channel fader PCBs, they are only used to tell the desk software which board is which. However, it would be a good idea while you've got the desk open to check they are in the correct position anyway. I hope this helps. 1 Quote Archie - Student Student of lighting design & operation Owner of: Phantom ZerOS Unlock Dongle, SolutionXL, Frog 2, JesterML, Juggler (x3), Level 6, Level 6 DMX, Level 12, Sirius 24 (x2) & 48 (x2), Sirius 500, Lightmaster XLS (x2), Frog, Fat Frog, Diablo, Orion, Alphapack 2, 4x Zero 88 Focus 650 Fresnels
