Davidmk Posted July 20, 2019 Report Posted July 20, 2019 Suggestion for a lower tech alternative to that described in "FLX Remote Button Box - PCB Layout By jw-lighting, July 3, 2015" Remote Switches for FLX.pdf
Edward Z88 Posted July 20, 2019 Report Posted July 20, 2019 Hi David, Many thanks for posting that’s great to see. For reference, it is also worth mentioning that CTRL + F1 through to CTRL + F6 on an external keyboard, mimic the first 6 remote switch triggers. Davidmk Posted July 20, 2019 Author Report Posted July 20, 2019 That is useful to know. Thanks. Not quite as useful as a direct button on the console but great if your soldering proves to be unreliable mid show.
stowedout Posted August 5, 2019 Report Posted August 5, 2019 Great work David, I will post a photo of my shoe box size switch box (it is a no solder option though) Edward why does the keyboard only do the first 6 buttons? Chris
Davidmk Posted August 6, 2019 Author Report Posted August 6, 2019 I'm guessing Edward"s reply will reference the fact that other desks can only have 6 remote switches.
Edward Z88 Posted August 6, 2019 Report Posted August 6, 2019 Hi Chris, 10 hours ago, stowedout said: Edward why does the keyboard only do the first 6 buttons? On Solution and ORB series consoles, there are 6 remote switches, and so the 6 keyboard shortcuts keep this compatible across the range. A request to map Remote switches 7 & 8 to a keyboard shortcut for FLX is logged on our tracking system as reference number ZOS-9497. Davidmk Posted August 6, 2019 Author Report Posted August 6, 2019 Old Frog user. I used a key fob remote and receiver, set up a cue for each fixture then used the key fob to step through them when focusing. It was a three button fob so I used one as "shift" to get four options... reset to 1st spot cue, reset to 1st wash cue, next cue and previous cue. Saved a lot of walking along the catwalks. Not necessary now, with the remote app.
