Cues and automation with MIDI

Hello

I am hoping that you can give me some advice.  We are looking at automating cues with music so that as like 0:33 in the song the lights flash or change currently we have to press the cue button on time.  I am quite surprised to see that there is no duration setting within the cues as this would be really handy and very useful!

Looking into this further I see i need a USB to Midi device the MOTU FastLane USB MIDI interface.

Can someone please tell me what is the best Windows software to use with this?  Are there any videos on how you use the software and the interface?

MIDI Timecode is ideal for triggering the console in applications like this...

Any USB to MIDI interface that is compatible with Windows and supports MIDI Timecode can be used.

Show Cue Systems is a Windows software package that can trigger audio tracks and MIDI Timecode. However, I don't personally have any experience of using this.
