Guys, A very urgent question for you! I have the Phantom Frog and I have a board in the Theatre. Is it possible for me to program at home and then take it in and load it without knowing the DMX address at home! At the moment on my phantom I have just assigned the 4 fixtures but haven't patched them. When I go in tomorrow will it work even though when I programmed it at home I didn't have the DMX Address?? Please Help SAM

The frog isn't the same without a keyboard and momitor, they both allow such ease of use. If you want my personal advice get them! You can get them very cheap at somewhere like PC World/ Dixons (or your countries equivalent). Just as a quick question about keyboards would a wireless keyboard work?? SAM

I was just wondering how you decide which changes to implement in future software releases and how exactly you track the requests. I know you give things Frog Ref Numbers but how does this work- do you have some huge Database?? Just wondering Sam

I am using a Fat Frog with 4 Martin Mac 500's and instead of the home value being intensity=100%/225 I want it to be 0%/0. How can I change this. If I have to change the personality file could someone please give me a step by step guide Ta, Sam

Guys, To aid me in the training of peeps on the Fat Frog I have made a 'interactive' powerpoint training program! I have spent quite a while making it and at present only instructs on Generic Lighting however I will be adding the intellegent lighting part very soon. It in total comprises of 26 interactive slides which allow you to navigate around the easy to understand slide show. For those of you who do not have Power Point you can have the slides as a word document but obviously you wouldn't be able to navigate around. If you spot any mistakes (formatting, hyperlinks or just mistakes in instructions) please contact me so I can rectify them. Any feedback please do not hesitate to contact me Thanks Sam Henderson PS Z88, I have worked very hard on this and would love a flease!!!

When you output colour, beamshape or position fixture parameters via a submaster (or any other playback method) the LTP channels are triggered and go to their programmed values. The LTP channels will remain at those values until told to do something else by the desk - this could be by outputting a memory from the playback x, raising a submaster, pressing an SX button (mambo) outputting a palette, homing the fixture, or adjusting the parameters with the wheels. With LTP channels the desk does not record a history of what causes the channels to go to what values and therefore there is no concept of undoing the LTP actions. When you raise a submaster, the colour parameters (for example) will go to their programmed levels when triggered - lowering the submaster will NOT affect the colour levels. The submaster does not know - or in fact need to know, what values the colour parameters were before it was raised - it only contains information on what to set the parameters to when raised. So i short there is no way that I can do this??? Thanks for clarifying that Sam

Also K-9, I have been using my Phantom to test this because I'm not near a desk at the mo but when I take the colour Sub out, the output screen still seems to show the colour as being in. Would this be viable, if so how can I get rid of it??? So many questions, so little time!!! Ta for replies so far Sam

Right In wasn't holding down Beamshape when programming!! :!: :!: OK- What if I wanted to when programming the sub not make it relate to one particular fixture and then when I play it back get it to apply only to the fixtures I have selected/ tagged??? Is this possible?? Sam
-
Ok, I have done that but what I want to do is sort of mix and match so put intesity to full and colour and beamshape but as soon as I put the beamshaoe up it cancels out the colour?? How can I get arround this one? Sam
-
OK- Having programmed in full ever since I started using the desk (about 4 months ago) I feel I am competent on using all of its features apart from I am still having problems with Partial Memories on Submasters. From what I can gather from playing, instruction manual and other posts Partial Memoories can be used to record just one antribute (say colour) and then can be mixed with other Partial Memories (using subs) to create different effects for instance; Page1-Sub1- Intensity Full Page1-Sub2- Colour 178 (blue) Page1-Sub3- Fixed Gobo 167 (clouds) When I mix Sub One and Sub two I will get Full Intesity Blue. Is this correct?? If so how do I do it?? Also when I program it onto a sub do I have to set intesity to the correct ammount when programming sub one and two or shall I just leave it at 0 so I can mix it with sub one. I am so confused?? Hope I have made sense. I have got a show very soon which I am going to be primerily busking using the subs so I really need some help on this one. Ta Guys, Sam

I am having trouble understanding your post, Can you elaborate on this Sam

Upload them to some webspace, you can make a free page using geocities or something then get the image URL (Obtainable by right clicking the image>properties>Address {URL} Once you have this you can paste the address into here>highlight the address>and then click Img to put tags arround it. Finally it may look like this (without the spaces) [ img ]http://support.zero88.com/forum/templates/subTrail/images/logo_phpBB.gif[ /img ]

In regards to Faders, like haytach said it woould be the good to get the best of both worlds  I would like 20-40 motorised faders for generic pages and a few non-motorised faders (15) for submasters. A touch screen I also think would be a good idea, this is the way Lighting Boards seem tto be moving forward. More ways of backing up shows (CD-RW) and a parellel port for a printer  Lots of possible wing attachments to make the desk very much customizable for different applications. I.E. Youcould have a speducked Submaster Wing, A Playback wing, You could even add moving fixtures wing and generic channels wings- You could make the desk completly your own. This would be esspecially ggood if the main console was cheap and you earned your profit on the wings- you would beable to supply the desk to all budgets then as well. Sam

Short and sweet answer then! Good Good, Thanks for help all You have made me a very happy man! Sam currently smiling with glee

OK- What I am planning to do is program a whole show pretty much on the Phantom Frog but as I have no idea of positions I was planning to do all position programming using a palette (e.g What I would do is program pallets like Drummer, Back of Stage, Auditorium, Singer Downstage left etc.) and then when I got into the venue just edit the palettes so the palette DRUM PLAYER is actually focussed on the drum player. But to do this I would obviously need to edit the palettes. Can I do this?? Sam

OK- Here is my big question, Palettes! I am slightly dim and have asked this question before however I still don't get it, so I need some help. I get the idea that palletes are like a colour/ beamshape/ possition etc. that you program and then when it is changed it autmaticly changes all of the cues with referance to that pallete, but i don'tt get how to use them so these are my questions. How do you program a new pallete? How do you edit a pallete? How do you program using a pallete? I am doing a show quite soon and it would be really helpful and make the programming time so much quicker if I could use them effectivly! Thanks Sam
-
OK- It will be interesting to see if you can program directly to submaster. It sounds a very starnge problem and not one I've ever come across.  SAM

The Maxxyx costs in excess of "£26,000" so any feature on a Maxxyx (including the incredibly cool motorised faders) is not reasonable to ask for from a frog!! They are just 2 completly different desks in two different worlds. NZ or K-9, What will be the RRP so to speak of this new club desk being brought out or are you doing the old let the market decide trick again?? Persoanlly as a customer I would appreicate it if you gave us a rough guide to the RRP so we know we are not being completly ripped off by supliers/ distributers. Sam Edit; PS- Count me in for any sort of beta testing

Love it K-9 Great Quizes- still crap at them though, nnever mind How long did it take your IT Wizardry to make that then?? Sam
-
Seems a really obvious question to ask but just thought i'd check Are all the correct masters up?? Also try programming channel data streight to a submaster and see if this works?? If so it may be something you are doing wrong whilst transferring. SAM
-
Just out of interest K-9 is that a custom file extension to Z88 or is it used for other things. If so what (apart from phantom frog) Sam

Or if you want them to function identically you need to set the addresses as the same! Sam -
How are the shirts etc. going??? Can we expect a date. Looks like FRog Forum is setting the standard and the trend has caught on as the Blue Room are now doing them as well Sam
