I’ve looked at your guide but one of the problems is the lights aren’t turning on by using a fader

If you haven’t saved your show file to a USB drive prior to resetting the console, you will need to patch it. Otherwise the console won’t know what lights you have. See the link below for information on adding lights into your console…

    Hope this helps,

The desk was "unmanned" at the time. No cues were triggered at the time of reboot.

By the time I saw the screen ( I was filming the show at the time) it was displaying the "normal" load sequence.

Thank you for the information. Without any error messages, it is hard to say what may have caused this.

For info we have two monitors connected in parallel on the vga, could this prompt a reboot?

If you encounter this issue again, it would be worth just connecting a single monitor, to see if this resolves the issue. If you need an extra monitor, you can add additional desktops using the ZerOS Monitor app for Windows and tablets.

What USB devices were connected to the console?

If you have any questions, please let us know.

After some more unsuccesful tries, I brought the console to my supplier. It's indeed under warranty.

In their service centre, it boots up straight away under identical circumstances as my tests.

    Interesting but seems solved somehow...

This sounds like an intermittent internal connection, sometimes causing the console to fail to boot. An approved service centre should be able to open the console, to ensure everything is seated correctly.

Our solution (running 7.11) has just rebooted mid show. OK during the previous 5 performances. Had been stable in the current state, no cue due when reboot occurred.

Sorry to hear this. What did you see on the external monitor? Did the console go straight from the normal interface, to the first boot screen?

Was there a certain button that was pressed, that seemed to trigger the reboot?

How long did the console take to reboot?

  5. Hi Stefan,

Thank you very much for your description of the issue, and for sharing a debug file along with your show file. Sorry to see you encountered this issue with your console.

At home I did a recovery with Zeros 7.11 and had the same problems. Desk crashes, when changing fixture profiles .. The only difference was, that the desk restarted normal.

We are aware of an issue on Leapfrog consoles running ZerOS 7.11, which can result in a crash when changing multiple fixture profiles at once in the Fixture Schedule. This issue will be fixed in ZerOS 7.12 software, which we are hoping to release in the next couple of weeks. If you need a fix sooner, please send us an email to support@zero88.com, and I can share a beta version with you.

Is there a possibility to check the hardware (memory modules, etc) to be sure it´s no hardware problem?

I can confirm that based on the information in the debug file, there is not a hardware issue with your console.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Getting error messages on boot so looks like I need to replace the battery.

If you are receiving a “Non-Volatile RAM” error, this indicates the battery needs replacing.

To open the console, remove the screws in the diagram below..

    https://zero88.com/storage/downloads/6c4dcd75-9f3b-4a1f-a33d-371491b2c707/Leafrog-Solution-Access-Diagram.PDF

The front panel can then hinge away from the base - be careful not to tug any ribbon cables. The CR2032 coin cell can then be replaced.

Do feel free to email support@zero88.com if you need assistance.

    Hope this helps,

  7. Hi @Rene van Hove

Thank you for your description of the issue.

If you are unable to access the ZerOS Start-Up Tool, this suggests there is a hardware issue with the console. Could the console have experienced any impacts since it was working correctly?

As your console is under warranty, I recommend sending us an email to support@zero88.com, including the console’s serial number. Feel free to email a picture of the serial number sticker on the rear of the console. Please also let us know your location, and we will be able to advise.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Just a quick post to tell you that the start up tool fixed my problem. I cleared the show file and load an older version and everything is fine now.

There was no error messages, the boot was fine, the problem occured after the 2nd log screen when the console loaded the "internal show 2". It froze just after this.

Thanks very much for the update.

Thanks for your help, I will send the error file to the support and hope it can maybe help for a future update.

If you have received any debug files in the .zdb format, please do email these to support@zero88.com, to allow us to investigate further.

If you have any questions please let us know.

After I modified a playback, the console froze with a loading screen with the Z of ZerOS in the middle and a bar half completed.

It doesnt move at all. I tried to plug off the console but as soon as it boots, it loads my session and the loading screen froze again.

Really sorry to hear you have encountered this issue after updating your console’s software.

Upon booting the console after the issue, did you receive any error messages on the internal touchscreen, prior to the console freezing again?

Add a USB keyboard and mash F1 at boot. You’ll get some options. Worth having a USB key with 7.10 and 7.11 on it.

    See https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/trouble-shooting/zeros-startup-tool

As per @kgallen ‘s comment, I’d recommend accessing the ZerOS Start-Up Tool from the link above. This will allow you to firstly clear the show file from the console, which may have corrupted, causing the console to crash upon boot. You can then reboot the console, and load in your show file from a USB drive.

If you haven’t backed up your show file to a USB drive, you can back-up the desk state to a USB drive, prior to clearing the show file. However, this will dump a file that you will need to email us, to allow us to recover your show file.

If clearing the show file does not work, you can reinstall ZerOS 7.11 software from the Start-Up Tool.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Patched some new fixtures into Solution desk (os 7.8.1.2).

Thank you for sharing the OS version. Would you also be able to share the Software Version? To confirm the current software version running on your console, please click the “Other Windows” button, found top left of the Output Window. From the drop-down choose System Info. In the window that opens will be a line of text displaying the “Software Version”.

The latest software for Solution consoles is ZerOS 7.11. As some of your fixtures feature Lime LEDs, I would recommend updating to ZerOS 7.11, as this version applies Lime to the ZerOS colour mixing tools.

I can control intensity but colour selections having no effect on Output levels - stuck at RGB @100, W@0.

    Any obvious troubleshooting?

How are you trying to adjust the fixture's colour? Do the colour encoder wheels give you control?

If it is just the automatic colour palettes that are not working, as @keredyelesob mentions, please try clicking "Automatically Create Colour Palettes", and try again.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

  11. Hi Eric,

I think @iank99 has covered everything here. To add a couple of further comments:

So I know that the Ethernet Cable have limited distance... Less than 100 meter, (DMX is Less than 400 m...)

Have you some information about Ethernet signal Booster ?

There are many different approaches to running network cabling above 100m, most of which come down to personal preference and the specific requirements of each system.

If you need a cable run of more than 200m, I would be tempted to go with Ian's suggestion, and move over to fibre for the cable run...

    8 minutes ago, iank99 said:

You will need to find some transceivers to convert the copper ethernet to fibre optic and some fibre cable to link them (plus the appropriate terminations).

    14 minutes ago, iank99 said:

If the ethernet is going to be used indoors and you have secure accessible storage - it might be feasible to create a daisy chain of ethernet switches - don't use managed hubs but "dumb" switches to reduce the possibility of lag.

As Ian suggests, if you need a cable run between 100m and 200m, you could get away with putting a small Ethernet switch mid way along the line. Depending on the system you are creating, it could be useful to add a wireless access point at this location too. I would not recommend "daisy-chaining" multiple switches to achieve this, as the more "hops" you add, the more latency there will eventually be.

    10 minutes ago, iank99 said:

It MIGHT be possible to use WiFi if you have "line of sight" - there are several companies that supply specially designed antennae to keep the signal as a "tight beam" but not cheap.

The setup Ian is talking about here is specialist equipment. Personally, I wouldn't consider Wi-Fi for this, but YMMV. If you need to get a DMX universe remotely, then sending DMX wirelessly will be less of a headache than wirelessly sending your Ethernet network a great distance.

If you have any questions, let us know.

  12. Hi @francocampo

I would like to make sure that when I change playback the moving heads do not go to home position and then move to the cue in playback.

I believe disabling "Release On Lower" should achieve this behaviour.

If you raise a playback for the first time, the fixtures will move from their default values, to the values from the raised playback. If you lower the playback, with release on lower disabled, the fixture's intensity will lower, but their colour, beam and position information will remain.

Raising a second playback, will then move the fixture's values from the first playback, to the values of the second playback.

If you would like to prepare the fixture's colour, beam and position information, prior to raising the second playback's fader, you could configure the playback's button to be a go button, rather than flash, and tap the button to manually prepare your fixtures.

    I hope this helps.

I have had a look for the exact manual but unfortunately this an amateur dramatic company so file keeping isn't brilliant and I haven't been able to find it, would you be able to drop all four dmx profiles and I just trail and error it on my side until it works.

This fixture file contains five Phantom 250 Spot modes/versions...

    Showtec Phantom 250 Spot.ift

Please try these, and let us know how you get on.

I am using showtec phantom 250 spots.

There are actually 4 different versions of the Phantom 250 Spots, each with different DMX maps.

    24 minutes ago, droiddk said:

DMX-chart confirms what Edward said, DMX value 255 = "close" (from manual)/ dimmer at zero so desk is working as it should.

As @droiddk mentions, the Phantom 250 Spot in our library is the version with the inverted intensity.

If you can provide us with a manual to your exact version of the Phantom 250 Spot, we will be able to provide you with the correct fixture file for your version.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

  15. Hi @Connor

Welcome to the Zero 88 Forum.

But my problem is when my faders are down I'm the zero positions all lights are on full and when I move them to full positions the fixtures go out. The intensities seem to be inverted at standard default is their a way to. Swap this back around so when my faders are in the 0 position my fixtures are also at zero and not at full.

Thank you for sharing a video. I have downloaded and removed your attached video, to save your forum storage space.

Fixtures will default to a standard intensity, meaning 100% intensity = a DMX value of 255. However some fixtures do have inverted intensities, meaning to achieve full light output, the DMX value needs to be 0.

What make, model and mode of fixture have you patched onto these faders? If you can let me know, I will check to see whether this fixture is incorrectly inverted in the library. If it is, I can share a corrected version of the fixture for you to load in.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

How can i upgrade to 2 universe when the upgrade portal on the website is down?

Our online universe upgrade portal is currently unavailable. If you would like to upgrade your console, to unlock an additional universe of DMX, please email us your console’s details file. On the console, please tap SETUP -> Upgrade -> Save Details and save the file to a USB drive. Please then attach this file to an email to support@zero88.com. Please also let us know when you require the universe upgrade, and we will be able to advise.

it would be interesting to be able to customize the windows on the external screen as in the old frogs. Example: hold down the Wiev key and color, group, playback, etc.,and then press the view key until the active window is positioned in the desired position and size. Sometimes it might be useful to display several cue lists at the same time or a full-screen color or shape window.

Thank you for the suggestion. It is very helpful to hear people’s thoughts.

”Custom Desktop Layouts” are something we are keen to bring to FLX and FLX S consoles. If you haven’t seen it already, we have a poll running on the forum, to allow users to vote for their favourite features. Feel free to vote for “Custom Desktop Layouts” to bump it up the list…
